SUMMARY

Plans, coordinates, and directs the Quality Assurance Process designed to ensure quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for Total Quality Assurance which includes all Quality Team functions

  • Manage and support the Quality Team between two locations

  • Manage and direct the cost-effective operations of the Quality Control Department as described by the General Manager or Director of Quality

  • Ensure GM or Director of Quality is aware of all relevant quality issues affecting the business

  • Maintains quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results

  • Support the improvement of product reliability and durability and to support quality costs

  • Establishes quality documentation by writing and updating quality assurance procedures

  • Create monthly quality, COPQ and other required reports

  • Manage and help maintain ISO and AAR management system

  • Manage the development of corrective actions and support CAR process

  • Manage Customer PPAP process

  • Responsible for conducting quarterly management reviews

  • Participate as a member of the YT Management Team

  • Represents YT Quality during corporate quality council meetings

  • Provide leadership and coaching to all associates regarding quality

  • Assist in the resolution of quality problems with suppliers and customers

  • Communicate, coordinate and cooperate with all levels of management, associates, suppliers and customers

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the supervision of the Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineer, Technical Service Manager, and the Quality Supervisors at both YT locations. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Also includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Four-year college degree or university program certificate with 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment; or +15 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
