Consumers Energy Intern/Co-Op - Business in JACKSON, Michigan

The Business Internship Program is geared towards current college students who are earning a business degree or other related field that aligns with the skill sets included in this job description . We are also looking for those who have a passion for learning the inside workings of a large utility company within the energy industry. The Business Internship Program at Consumers Energy has core principles in place to challenge the intern and practically apply theories learned in their educational journey.

What you will do:

Current college students of all levels will work as part of a larger team to provide hands-on support and development for aspects of our business. This could include work in; project management, emergency management, finance, human resources, strategy, governance and compliance, supplier diversity, inventory and sourcing analytics, supplier performance, supplier control, issue resolution, warehousing data analytics, public affairs, accounting and more all while helping create a better tomorrow for the communities we serve!

We encourage you to apply if you possess the following:

  • Enrolled and actively pursuing an associates or bachelor's degree in business from an accredited university as a student. A successful candidate should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Some of the basic skills required for the role: Written and verbal communication skills Critical thinker

  • Detail Oriented

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Self-Starter

  • Flexible

The following skills and experience may set you apart:

  • Experience with data analytics

  • Finance experience or understanding

  • Experience utilizing and building reporting in Power BI Knowledge in the Incident Command System (ICS) Problem solving skills

This role may require reporting to an assigned headquarter. Leaders will discuss the work arrangements which best fit the nature of the work along with overall business needs.
