Job Title: Machinist

Job Description

Set up and operate CNC turning centers after downloading the provided CAM program, while maintaining a tolerance of +/-.0004. Interpret complex detail drawings and turn high-quality parts to achieve quoted cycle times in a job shop environment with typical volumes ranging from 1 to 100 pieces.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning centers.

• Download and implement provided CAM programs.

• Maintain a tolerance of +/-.0004 during operations.

• Interpret complex detail drawings accurately.

• Turn high-quality parts within the quoted cycle times.

• Work efficiently in a job shop environment with varying volumes (1 to 100 pieces).

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience with CNC mills or CNC lathes.

• Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC machines.

• Knowledge of CNC lathe and CNC milling operations.

• Ability to interpret complex detail drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with diverse customer bases, including the automotive, food packaging, aerospace, and oil/gas industries.

Work Environment

The position is based in a job shop specializing in custom machining with a diverse customer base across various industries. The work schedule is the 1st shift, running from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a half day on Saturday. There is an option to start at 6am, and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break is included. The company has 25 employees and fosters a collaborative work environment.
