Responsibilities Assists in loading and unloading products to and from trucks, containers and other subsistence conveyances using forklifts, manual and mechanized pallet jacks, or other approved Material Handling Equipment. Reports discrepancies and/or damages to supervisor. Participates in inventories. Performs a wide range of warehousing tasks to include receiving, storing, selecting and shipping perishable and semi-perishables subsistence. Checks. assembles and processes documents and routes subsistence and equipment to correct locations or storage areas. Prepares shipping and inventory documents with required data for manual or automated inventory systems. Help is normally available for weights in excess of 70 pounds. Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Work Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside. Works in areas that are hot, cold, damp, drafty, and/or poorly lighted. Works in bad weather such as outside areas and open docks. The work may be dirty, dusty, and greasy. Work is performed in close quarters in warehouse aisles and docks. Is exposed to injury through careless storing and stacking of material. Is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes and bruises while performing the job. If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler, but for the child's age, is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12. Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions..
