Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Responsibilities Serves as the Director of the Personal and Professional Development Branch of the Marine and Family Programs, Marine Corps Community Services that includes oversight and management of: operation of facilities; programming and related services; supervision of financial, personnel and property resources; planning, implementation of services and execution of associated initiatives. Oversees the day-to-day operation of the program that encompasses mission, function, operation, activity, laws, rules and regulations authorized and funded by the agency. Monitors project activities to mitigate risks and maximize resources that can have effects on operations and groups of people. Uses expertise in managing, oversight and monitoring of personal and professional development support services including transition, education, relocation and family readiness support services. Provides guidance on transition assistance, lifelong learning programming and services, libraries, personal financial management, relocation assistance, family member employment assistance, and information and referral programs. Provides guidance on developing and providing responsive programming to support Active-Duty Members and eligible customers in achieving positive personal and professional development goals. Management Serves as the Program Manager to oversee day-to-day operation of the ongoing Personal and Professional Development program at the installation. Determines appropriate products or services for customers and defines program scope, requirements, and deliverables. Develops, modifies or provides input to project proposals. Coordinates and integrates implementation of program activities. Manages or leads management of resources. Implements or maintains quality assurance processes. Solves problems, takes prompt corrective action when problems arise, initiates action for improvements. Conducts presentations and briefings on all aspects of the Personal and Professional Development program as required. Participates in phased, milestone and final program reviews. Develops and implements program related marketing plans. Assesses program operations. Monitors progress to achieve organizational goals. Evaluates and adjusts strategies to improve the program. Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information, and uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives. Stays abreast of current methods, metrics, tools and techniques related to the subject matter area and implement best practices in a timely manner. Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resources requirements. Determines short- and long-term goals and strategies to accomplish priorities. Coordinates with other programs or work areas to accomplish goals. Monitors progress and evaluates outcomes of operations, activities, and events. Develops minimum standards to govern the local program, policy, procedures and resources. Directly addresses matters involving difficult technical problems, application of new or test out techniques/methods, and decisions that require further clarification with the higher-level supervisor. Explains regulatory requirements relevant to problem situations. Reviews proposed changes to program plans and project proposals to ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met and changes do not include provisions contrary to policy and local practices. Identifies provisions not consistent with requirements and recommends action to correct inadequacies. Maintains extensive contact with Program Managers from other commands and other work areas in the organization to collaborate on sharing resources and achieving goals. May maintain contact with managers from related agencies in the local community to: resolve problems, negotiate agreements, advise on and render technical assistance in: utilizing facilities and staff, redirecting programs to provide efficient and effective service, developing new or revised curricula and programs for staff development and developing and installing reporting systems. Bachelor's degree in a career field appropriate to fulfill the duties of the position. 2. Skills in managing the day-to-day operation of military and family support programs that encompasses: mission, functions, laws, rules and regulations authorized and funded by the organization. 3. Skills in program planning; reviewing project proposals; analyzing impact on resource requirements; implementation of standard operating procedure; and incorporate provisions that affect service delivery requirements. 4. Ability to review and maintain regulatory and programmatic standards for operation. 5. Ability to supervise, mentor and coach employees to accomplish their tasks and improve performance. 6. Knowledge of fiscal/budgetary resource management, and/or basic human resource procedures. Please include MONTH/YEAR and HOURS per week for all previous work experience listed on the resume.
