* Job Overview:*

 

The Resort Pastry Chef leads our pastry operations within the culinary operations at Black Desert Resort. The Pastry chef role encompasses overseeing the pastry operations in both our restaurant environments and banquet services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and dessert creation, with a flair for designing a wide range of pastries, desserts, breads, and confections that cater to our diverse clientele.

 

* Job Specification:*

 

Onsite: Black Desert Resort Shift & Schedule Availability: Year Round / Full Time The budgeted range starts at $80,000 - $95,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

 

* Job Responsibilities but not limited:*

 

  • Create, design, and implement dessert menus for the resort's various dining outlets, including fine dining restaurants, casual eateries, and banquet events.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to pair desserts with overall menu themes and individual dishes.
  • Develop and test new pastry and dessert recipes, ensuring a variety of seasonal offerings.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of all baked goods to ensure consistent quality and presentation.
  • Supervise and men tor pastry department staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Manage the pastry kitchen's budget, inventory, and rdering supplies.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Work closely with the banquet team to design custom dessert offerings for events, including weddings, conferences, and special occasions.
  • Stay updated on current pastry trends and techniques, incorporating innovative ideas into the menu.

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a pastry chef, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting.
  • Proven ability in creating a wide range of pastries, desserts, breads, and confections.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in training and mentoring staff.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the resort's schedule.

Compensation Range: The compensation for this position is $80,000.00/Yr. - $95,000.00/Yr. based on qualifications and experience.
