Job Description Summary

Propose and coordinate initiatives to improve the competitiveness of products, managing the action plan to reduce material costs and labor allocation in manufacturing, working together and supporting the unit cost reduction leader and the areas involved. The main objective is to improve future cost trends through the implementation of strategic initiatives.

Job Description

Main responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present monthly competitiveness and product cost evolution reports (Reflib).

  • Coordinate the execution of action plans to improve material and labor costs

  • Assist with the preparation of the unit cost-out budget

  • Prepare economic feasibility studies to implement actions to improve product costs, involving investment analysis (CAPEX) and ROI calculation.

  • Archive, keep updated and organized the digitized files of Reflib reports and cost-out tasks.

Cost tracking and reporting:

  • Monitor and analyze direct cost of products (high voltage circuit breakers, instrument transformers, reactors and line traps).

  • Prepare monthly reports on product cost evolutions considering the cost structure validated by Finance (EAS), based on the list of materials and including all applicable parameters and costing rules.

  • Develop action plans to increase cost efficiency and enhance product competitiveness.

Reflib Process:

  • Coordinate the Reflib process to optimize costs in the manufacturing unit.

  • Consider business strategy, customer perspectives and specifications, supplier processes and capabilities.

  • Collaborate with the parties involved (R&D, quality, Sourcing, Industrialization, Sales, Marketing and Finance) to encourage the generation of ideas, planning, execution and implementation.

  • Provide support to sales and tendering teams on strategic project opportunities at the bid stage to define the most effective product configurations versus customer specifications.

  • Provide technical support and work with the Sourcing team and suppliers to identify and implement initiatives to improve raw material acquisition costs.

  • Assist finance in analyzing product costs and updating standard prices in SAP.

  • Work strictly in accordance with GE compliance policies.

  • Acquire technical knowledge of products

  • Analyze issues critically, challenge, anticipate problems, propose solutions and influence those involved to provide solutions with quality and at the lowest possible cost.

  • Coordinate projects and cost reduction initiatives effectively.

  • Define, quantify the impact and plan product cost reduction initiatives with clear goals for scope, cost and deadlines.

  • Organize and prioritize tasks, track progress and meet deadlines.

  • Communicate efficiently with cross-functional teams, management and other stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate written and oral communication skills in English.

  • Cooperate with technical, Sourcing and supplier teams in Brazil and abroad (Europe, Asia, Americas).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferable in Electrical, Mechanical or Control and Automation engineering;

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing is desired;

  • Fluent in Portuguese and Advanced level in English languages;

  • Office with advanced Excel;

  • Negotiations skills;

  • Oral and written communication;

  • Ability to coordinate several initiatives simultaneously;

  • Problem identification and resolution skills;

  • Proven analytical and organization abilities;

  • Teamwork, resilience and openness to change;

  • Ability to work independently and as a team;
