What about the role?

We’re looking for a Import Operations Manager in HQ office in Istanbul. The role reports to International Logistics & Warehouse Manager.

The role will ensure that export operations and Duty-Free export operations are carried out smoothly, just in time and at the most cost-effective cost. To oversee the production of export sales, its logistics and customs procedures from its preparation.

What you will be doing?

  • To be in communication with the relevant suppliers and official authorities to ensure that the logistics, handling and customs clearance procedures are carried out on time and without errors, starting from the order, in order to ensure supply management in accordance with the imported alcoholic beverage.

  • To make suggestions in coordination with employees, suppliers and in-company units to improve the process in completing the actual import transactions of the products and delivering them to the sales warehouses on time.

  • Working in coordination with employees, suppliers and internal units to complete the actual import procedures of the products and delivering them to the sales warehouses on time, and to make suggestions for improving the process.

  • To work and develop projects to reduce the total cost of ownership of the products it is responsible for importing, to ensure that quality levels comply with the targets, and to increase the efficiency of the import process.

  • To ensure that applications for special permits for imported materials and alcoholic beverages are made within the deadlines in accordance with the customs legislation, and to ensure the distribution and organization of duties regarding the tracking and use of these permits.

  • Preparing monthly import costs reports and following up with International Logistics and Warehouse Manager.

  • To make periodic reports regarding the needs plans and realizations regarding the alcoholic beverage supply process (weekly, monthly, annually).

  • Contributing to the definition of procedures related to the processes for which it is responsible, improving the processes, and ensuring the workflow within the framework of the determined processes and procedures.

  • Determining the improvement potentials within the department and being a bridge between the relevant stakeholders in Import and Logistics department.

  • To monitor, evaluate and report the performances of employees reporting to her, to guide them within the period, and to contribute to the development of their areas of expertise.

  • Import Operations Manager reports to International Logistics and Warehouse Manager.

What we are looking for

  • Preferably graduated from the relevant departments of universities.

  • At least 7 years of practical international logistics and import operations experience.

  • At least 2 years of team management experience preferably.

  • Knowledge of legislation on food and food contact products and Ministry applications and Import regulations.

  • Familiar with the alcoholic beverage import procedure preferably.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong communication and management skills to build close relationships with internal & external departments.

  • Solution-oriented and analytical thinker, strong teamwork, and time management skills with ability to multi-task

  • Good knowledge with MS Office Programs and SAP

Key Stakeholders :

  • Central Supply Planning Team, Domestic Logistics & Warehouse Team, Accounting Team, Finance Team.

  • Bonded Warehouse Team.

  • Suppliers (shipping lines, freight forwarders, custom brokers, bonded warehouse operators)

Location : Istanbul. This full-time role includes hybrid working system.
