GE Aerospace Business Operations Specialist in Istanbul, Turkey

Job Description Summary

The Business Operations Specialist will be managing site business operations including logistics, shipments, receiving, import and export, customs, Kartal office related operations, Gebze office, MARTEK and Free Trade Zone related operations, requisitions, Management of Change and supporting facilities management (cleaning, security, shuttles and equipment maintenance, assets management, calibrations).

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to internal Quality and Safety Policies and Procedures as they pertain to the position to ensure that all activities are carried out safely, effectively, with the highest quality and according to regulations.

  • Support and improve facility service operations such as cleaning, technical maintenance and repair, security, calibrations and shuttle services.

  • Monitor contractor/supplier performance, reporting to contracts manager as required and support supplier issue resolution.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and make personal judgments on how to undertake work to achieve quality, cost, scope, and time objectives.

  • Responsible for the drafting, and control of the service charge budgets and expenditures relating to all aspects of facility to maximize the quality of the offering.

  • Ensuring all appropriate agreements (proprietary information, non-disclosure agreements and etc.) are in place prior to sharing any information through the bidding and contracting process.

  • Collaborate with Sourcing to ensure suppliers are engaged in the competitive bidding process and help negotiation of best value and service per Sourcing policies.

  • Ensuring review of invoices related to Operations and Facilities.

  • Assist the Senior Management Team in meeting the operational & productivity targets

  • Manage site’s internal and external logistics operations including shipments, receiving, import and export and customs,

  • Ensure legal compliance of all GE MTC transactions regarding Free Trade Zone, MARTEK and Turkish & international Customs

  • Ensure engineers and shippers to follow the required procedures for smooth customs operations,

  • Plan, manage and report logistics and customs related operations budgets,

  • Create and manage orders for site business operations,

  • Manage MARTEK and Free Trade Zone related operations,

  • Manage Kartal office related operations,

  • Own and lead Management of Change process for Site Operations and Engineering,

  • Communicate effectively with global and regional GE Customs and shipment teams.

  • Collaborate with team members to develop and deliver lean operations to ensure that all activities are carried out safely, effectively, with the highest quality and according to regulations & procedures.

  • Document monthly operational reports.

  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments

  • Be located at GE Marmara Technology Center, Gebze – Kocaeli, TURKEY as main location and support offices in Istanbul and Ankara.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, International Trade and Logistics, or similar.

  • Eager to learn, open to communication, self-motivated, high follow-up/control ability.

  • A lean approach to processes is a plus.

  • Good command of English & Turkish (speaking/reading/writing).

  • Good command of MS Office Skills (especially MS Excel and MS Power point).

  • Proven experience at least 5 yrs. in a similar environment

  • Knowledge of ERP platforms (Oracle)
