Position: Accounting Specialist

Location: Issaquah, WA

Hourly Rate: $24 an hour

Job Summary: We are currently seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our partner company in Issaquah. This role involves a variety of essential accounting responsibilities, including invoicing, payroll, expense reports, account reconciliations, and monthly closings. This position offers a great opportunity for professionals with a strong background in general ledger accounting and a knack for financial analysis.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare invoices for project management, fixed fees, and payroll, along with related journal entries.

  • Assist with true-up calculations and participate in monthly accounting closes for international subsidiaries.

  • Manage accruals and adjusting journal entries for accounts such as unbilled/deferred revenue and revenue adjustments.

  • Record AR/JC entries accurately to reflect revenue and project expenses in the accounting system.

  • Support in percentage of completion calculations and ensure reconciliation of A/R aging and general ledger.

  • Prepare, analyze, and reconcile gross margin reports with the general ledger.

  • Review A/R aging reports, investigate invoice discrepancies, and resolve payment issues.

  • Assist in invoice preparation, maintain mailing lists, and distribute approved invoices promptly.

  • Act as a key point of contact for assigned plant projects, collaborating closely with Operations Directors and Plant Managers.

  • Support Senior Controller and team with weekly collection analysis and detailed AR aging notes.

  • Post entries related to job costs and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts.

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles, financial reconciliation, and analysis.

  • Basic knowledge of mathematical principles, business ethics, and financial controls.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to foster effective relationships across departments.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.

  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and precision.

  • Proficiency in computer applications essential for accounting tasks, including spreadsheets and accounting systems.

Pay Details: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour
