Become a Digital Labor Senior Application Developer at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this role, you will be part of the Digital Automation Center of Excellence (COE) team within the Customer Service Operations Division (CSOD) and will co-lead in the development and administration of a team of robots within the Revenue Services Organization (RSO). You will focus on developing and implementing process automations using a vendor Robotics tool (UiPath) across the department. You will interact closely with all levels of employees and leaders to implement and maintain the automation process that will replace the human interaction within the identified process.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Development of cost/benefit analysis and scoping of potential digital solution.

  • Evaluate, assess, design, develop and deliver digital process automation solutions.

  • Define the project testing scope, implementation tasks and deliverables of each digital product solution.

  • Follow the IT change request processes that are required to implement robotics automations

  • Develop robotic solutions through computer programming in SQL, Visual Basic, C , C-Sharp & other object-oriented languages. Conduct user acceptance tests and implement solutions.

  • Partner closely with IT and robotics vendor to trouble-shoot, problem-solve and develop solutions to meet business needs.

  • Provide on-call support.

  • Develop capacity plan to determine server needs and schedule volumes of jobs that can be run within a 24hr period

  • Provide consultation on robotics opportunities to collaborators within Customer Service.

The essentials

  • Five or more years of systems development support, maintenance and or technical operations support experience.

  • Programming and software development experience in one or more of the listed languages/Tools\: Microsoft Access, SAS, Power Bi, C , Visual Basic, C Sharp, or other Object-oriented computing languages.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.

  • Experience in system and process implementations.

  • Experience developing and delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Understands the software development life-cycle, including but not limited to practical work experience in developing and translating logical and physical system diagrams, development of business and system requirements, and performing user-acceptance testing.

  • Proficiency in systems design, such as Visio or other types of systems diagram tools.

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
