Job Summary :

The Training Manager at RailPros is a key subject matter expert responsible for executing and implementing regulatory and custom-made training programs. Working closely with RailPros Training & Media Services, you will deliver high-quality, industry-approved training products that meet and exceed customer expectations. This role involves serving as the primary liaison with external customers, federal, state, and local agencies, and other stakeholders. You will play a crucial role in supporting our Training and Media Services teams, contributing to the overall reputation and growth of the business unit.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Deliver and Implement Training Programs: Execute program content as assigned, ensuring delivery meets regulatory guidelines and customer needs.

  • Maintain Training Records: Keep accurate and up-to-date training records in compliance with program and regulatory requirements.

  • Build Professional Relationships: Establish and maintain professional relationships with external customers and stakeholders.

  • Liaison Duties: Act as the primary liaison for external customers, providing regular project updates and addressing critical feedback.

  • Attend Meetings and Conferences: Represent Training and Media Services at meetings and conferences to expand the customer base and stay informed about industry trends.

  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs and contribute to overall success.

  • Logical Problem-Solving: Apply logical thought processes and organize resources to solve issues and meet commitments.

  • Decision-Making: Demonstrated ability to make decisions and seize opportunities in alignment with business objectives.

  • Customer Focus: Ability to meet and exceed customer expectations and develop strong customer partnerships.

  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing and overseeing the entire scope of assigned projects.

  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in electronic communications, including email and text, as well as standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel, Word).

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and 5 years of experience.

  • Previous experience and/or certification as a PMP or leader of PMO.

  • 7 years of direct railroad experience within the Transportation (TY&E) department or a similar industry governing body, with significant time focused on safety, rules, and training.

    Preferred Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor's Degree in business , training, or safety-related fields.

  • Effective Instructor: Highly skilled in instructing adult learners and developing teaching resources (e.g., presentations, workbooks, tests).

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience working with federal, state, and local agencies, regulators, field and office staff, and clients.

  • Discretion: Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Six Sigma and Lean: Experience with Six Sigma and Lean management techniques.

    Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc. :

  • Valid Driver’s License .

  • Knowledgeable in FRA railroad rules and regulations.

  • Understanding of Transportation-based regulations (Train, Engine & Yard) and their field application.

  • Familiarity with GCOR and/or US Operating Rules, with experience working under Class 1 Railroad rules.

  • Knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 regulations.
