TEKsystems Cable Technician (Low Voltage/ Telecommunications) in Irving, Texas

Job Title: Intermediate Level Cable Technician

About Us: We are a Low Voltage company based out of Southwest. We are looking for a couple individuals to join a small team, and help work a data center project for the next 3 months.

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Intermediate Level Cable Technician to join our team. This role involves supporting our data center on the construction side, ensuring the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cabling infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in cable installation and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, terminate, and test various types of cables including fiber optic, coaxial, and Ethernet.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

  • Perform site surveys and assessments to determine cabling requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

  • Collaborate with construction teams to integrate cabling systems into new builds.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve cabling issues promptly.

  • Maintain accurate records of installations and repairs.

  • Provide support for network infrastructure projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.

  • 2-4 years of experience in cable installation and maintenance.

  • Proficiency with tools and equipment used in cable installation.

  • Strong understanding of data center environments and construction processes.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills.
