POSITION SUMMARY:

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for driving operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement? Join our team in Irvine, CA as a Value Stream Manager and take charge of the overall operation of a pneumatics value stream, where your leadership will be pivotal in implementing the Parker Lean system and Win Strategy. Your mission: to create a safe work environment, accelerate profitable growth, enhance quality, deliver exceptional customer service, and develop a highly skilled workforce.

In this role, you will lead day-to-day activities, ensuring that we meet and exceed our daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals. Your strategic vision and hands-on approach will be crucial in reducing operating costs, inventories, and lead times through innovative continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Development: Inspire and manage Team Leaders and associates, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

  • Operational Excellence: Oversee Process Engineering, Quality, Production Control, and budget management to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Strategic Decision-Making: Utilize team consensus to evaluate and implement decisions swiftly, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.

  • Performance Management: Conduct performance assessments and make employment decisions to build a high-performing team.

  • Customer Focus: Ensure premier customer service by maintaining high standards of quality and responsiveness.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    · Ownership of Value Stream P&L’s including cost analysis and opportunities, product line margin, PPV goals and manufacturing productivity.

    · Responsible for POP implementation and long-term manufacturing strategies.

    · Operational leadership including successful Lean implementation resulting in productivity gains.

    · Meets with your team regularly, reflecting/acting on problems, solutions, and challenges, thereby creating a culture of continuous improvement, and contributing towards becoming a learning organization. Promotes a culture of root cause analysis and taking actions to address abnormal conditions affecting the value stream.

    · Leads the Value Stream in daily operations and continuous improvements which include but are not limited to supply chain production control, establishing manufacturing priorities, coordination of activities with off -shift management and order shipments. Emphasizes the creation of continuous product flow, utilize pull systems where flow is not currently possible, and works to level the workload. Sustainment actions will need to be executed to ensure all improvements are maintained and built upon over time.

    · Creates the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work/processes are followed, countermeasures implemented, and the area is compliant with safety requirements.

    · Collaborate with other functions to ensure customer needs and business objectives are met. This would include supporting HPT activities, problem solving activities, and improvement activities with other key stakeholders in the business.

    · Owns value stream tracking center and works with other members of the organization to develop the future state of the value stream, plans to achieve future state, and execute plan to realize identified results and benefits of the desired future state. This would include engendering value stream maps, updating the value stream tracking center, and hosting Kaizen events to successfully move towards the future state. In addition, the VS Manager works with the VS Team Leaders to maintain the Team Improvement Boards (TIB).

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    · Knowledge of the relevant manufacturing, quality or operations support function that would typically be obtained through abachelor’s degree in a manufacturing-related, business, or technical discipline, andeight or more years of progressive experiencewithin the specialty area. Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results. Certification or a professional designation in a specialty area (e.g., APICS) may be required or preferred depending on position requirements.

    · Four or more years of increasing responsibility for leadership within manufacturing operationsrequiring advanced project planning and team organizational skills.

    · Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change. Engage and empower team to meet customer needs and goals of the business.

    · Thorough understanding of production technology, and/or specialty support areas including broad knowledge of business and regulatory environments and trends.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. We aim to offer a base pay that aligns with the midpoint of our salary range. Pay Range: $117,554 - $205,782.
