The Position:

As part of the Panasonic Avionics family of jobs, this position provides detailed analysis and consultation as part of the Global Total Rewards Center of Excellence in the areas of developing, implementing, and administering domestic, international, and global compensation policies and programs, including the annual merit review and bonus process. The person in this role understands the art and science of compensation, relying heavily on data and logic while considering context and contingencies, yet never wavering on compliance. This individual is a team player and has the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the company – especially with the HR business partners, recruiting, and managers/supervisors. This individual serves as a change champion and participates in the development and enhancement of communication and training materials around compensation topics. The person in this role receives general instruction and guidance while using independent discretion to resolve a variety of moderate to complex issues.

Compensation Surveys/Studies

  • Develops and/or participates in domestic and international compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information to determine company's competitive position.

  • Ensures global pay structures are competitive, equitable and cost effective.

  • Prepares special studies and recommendations on subjects such as merit budgets, bonus plans, or other compensation-related programs.

  • Performs research, analysis, and evaluation of current and proposed global compensation plans.

Job Analysis

  • Reviews requests for new or revised job evaluation and recommends appropriate job characteristics, including classification, salary grade assignment, and bonus tier, based on credible published data. Recommends and manages processes to drive issues to closure.

  • Audits jobs for content and prepares and/or reviews job descriptions reflecting job responsibilities, activities, duties, and requirements.

  • Works with Employee Relations to effect any changes to individual or position classification.

  • Partners with HR business partners and the HRIS team to create, modify, and manage job codes, job families, and job descriptions.

  • Participates in and/or leads special projects as required.

Fiscal Year End Activities

  • Supports fiscal year end merit and bonus cycle.

  • Helps manage fiscal year end process, including training and communications to HR and managers

  • Conducts the annual salary structure review.

Reporting & Ad hoc Compensation projects

  • Partners with Legal to configure, conduct, and interpret Pay Equity analyses and shares responsibility for global Pay Equity/Transparency reporting compliance; develops and helps execute program recommendations based on analyses.

  • Prepares routine and special reports for internal clients

  • Analyzes data necessary to make recommendations regarding development of company salary structure, FLSA exemptions, job revisions, and organizational structures.

  • Participates in departmental projects as active subject matter expert.

The salary or hourly wage range of $98,000 – $165,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively more challenging Compensation Analyst position experience.

  • GRP (Global Remuneration Professional) Designation preferred.

  • CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) Designation preferred.

  • Experience with Sales Incentive Plans preferred.

  • Demonstrated strength in analyzing data and making sound recommendations based on facts and logic.

  • High level knowledge of Compensation practices, principles, and relevant regulations.

  • Extensive knowledge of FLSA and seasoned at classifying employees under the Act.

  • Advanced skill level of Excel, ability to build embedded formulas and create sophisticated pivot tables, comfortable managing large data sets from various sources.

  • High level of detail orientation.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with HR business partners and business managers.

  • Consultative and educational approach to working with the HR Business Partners and business managers.

  • Strong problem solving, decision making, organizational and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrates strong initiative and is self-managed.

  • Knows when to ask for help and support.

  • Knowledge of MarketPay or PayFactors a plus.

  • Knowledge of Compensation & Performance Modules of HRIS, WORKDAY preferred.

  • Paid time off: Exempt Salaried employees receive flexible paid time off. This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year. We also close our offices at the corporate level in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year. For operational positions that are expected to work on holidays, we provide additional compensation for hours worked.
