Job Summary:

RailPros has an immediate need of a civil engineer to join our outstanding team of engineering professionals. We are looking for a civil engineer with well-rounded experience, knowledge, and understanding in general civil engineering, strong Civil 3D proficiency and proven experience developing PS&E for civil projects. This is a great opportunity to grow with us and advance your career. We are very successful in winning both public and private projects as well as railway projects which require civil engineering support and civil projects requiring design and review of civil / utilities / drainage plans in various locations throughout the United States.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Experience with transit related projects including facilities

  • Experience with rail related projects

  • Experience is specification writing and familiar with both CSI and Greenbook formats

  • Experience in using MicroStation and OpenRoads

  • Experience in Facility Design

  • Experience in permit processing

  • Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • 5-10 years’ (max.) experience developing construction plans, specifications and estimates

  • Experience in field engineering and/or Design Support During Construction

  • Client relations

  • High level of proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D

  • Proficient in site grading, utility and drainage design

  • Proficient in street improvement design and public works design

  • Experience in site development

  • Experience leading design teams and mentoring junior engineers

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program

  • PE License in California or ability to obtain license by comity

    Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Proficient in Hydrology/Hydraulic design and calculations

  • SUSMPs, WQMPs and SWPPPs experience

  • QSD/QSP registration

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the work of other consultants providing design peer review and construction cost estimates

  • Plan, schedule, or coordinate the preparation of program documents or activities for multiple major projects

  • Review and implement operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures

    Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:

  • PE License in California or ability to obtain license by comity

    Additional Information:

  • Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 / year.
