Who are we seeking?

We are looking for an application developer with some Linux and Python experience. You should have experience improving existing systems or services. You write clean, maintainable code and tests. You understand how your code is deployed or packaged to production.

The ideal candidate will be technically strong and get a lot done – you will have worked on services that are highly available, scalable, and redundant. You understand that simple systems are easier to operate and troubleshoot. You can balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements. You learn quickly and actively but know when to ask for help and guidance.

The person in this role will have the opportunity to get a lot done daily, contribute to features and projects, and work on improvements throughout the team.

Responsibilities

**Note – Candidate must be willing/able to work from Oracle’s Irvine, Ca. office.

As a member of the Governance, Risk Compliance Team, you will apply your in-depth knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Extensive troubleshooting experience

  • Ability to work independently on projects and be able to complete in a timely manner

  • Must be able to work with development and quality assurance teams across the organization

  • Must be able to effectively communicate clearly status of projects and technical issues

  • Must be able to manage projects with complex multi-branch development and competing deadlines

  • Hands-on experience contributing code to CICD systems

  • Solid Linux experience

  • Working knowledge of Python scripting language

  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes

  • Understanding of Docker

  • Understanding of Maven

  • Understanding of Java, or similar OO languages

  • Experience with at least one scripting language for automating tasks, proof of concept work, or command line tools

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $80,500 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
