Job Description

Engineering professional who, working independently, applies project management skills, engineering experience, and ingenuity to complete medium-sized projects from concept through project closure across various disciplines and locations.

Responsibilities:

  • The responsibilities of this engineering grade level inherently include and expand upon those established for lower Project Management Track grade levels.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable policies and procedures. Ensures the quality and effectiveness of key results of major projects within function through sound design, early risk assessments, and implementation of fallback strategies. Fully aware of the potential consequences (defects and failure modes) of design changes to established processes.

  • Mitigates risk within functions through sound design, early risk assessments, and implementation of fallback strategies.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. Ensures the quality and effectiveness of critical project results within the function through sound design, early risk assessments, and implementation of fallback strategies.

  • Has full awareness of the potential consequences (defects and failure modes) of design changes to established processes—Mitigates risk within functions through sound design, early risk assessments, and implementation of fallback strategies.

  • Develops, plans, coordinates, and directs the engineering aspects of projects across multiple locations of major scope and importance. Manages multiple, often concurrent, projects and meets expectations. Makes difficult decisions regarding priorities among projects.

  • Supports project strategy development to align and achieve key customer business objectives. Contribute to the development of long-term business and organizational strategies.

  • Works with customer on project approach/design to optimize asset value. Leads cross-functional teams in resolving major project hurdles. Reviews c structability strategy. Anticipated and resolved problems and crisis situations requiring fast, astute decisions with rapid implementation using technical training and experience.

  • A Subject Matter Expert in project engineering/project management.

  • Participates in internal, cross-divisional teams to develop and align procedures and standards. Be a vital member of a group or divisional task force.

  • Anticipates and resolves problems and crises requiring fast, astute decisions with rapid implementation by utilizing technical training and experience

  • Has Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) technical competency and can effectively review and provide commentary on MEP drawings during design reviews

  • Own strategic priorities with significant input into the site Long-Range Plan (LRP) by effectively prioritizing and estimating investment needs to maintain a viable, resilient campus, mitigate risk to safety and quality, and protect the various businesses on campus.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related discipline.

  • Equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence, with 10+ years of significant engineering and operational expertise.

  • A post-graduate education/degree is a plus and may contribute towards the desired years of experience.

  • Proven track record of managing projects to completion, using extensive external resources.

  • Demonstrated excellence in project management.

  • Interacts well with diverse groups within engineering and built long-lasting working relationships with internal and external collaborators.

  • Listens to and understands others' views and articulates tactfully and respectfully on one's perspective orally, in writing, and presentations.

  • Works well with other engineers in a collaborative, fast-paced, goal-driven environment.

  • Possesses interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile differences.

  • A technical background in health care, medical devices, biological, pharmaceutical, or similar industries (preferred).

  • Demonstrated competency with financial systems and fiscal control—project accounting experience.

  • Formal Project Management training (PMP) (preferred)

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
