Job Description

The GCD Exec. Dir. Aesthetics Toxins is responsible for shaping the vision, direction and implementation of the global aesthetics neurotoxins portfolio strategy. The individual is responsible for all aspects of the new product pipeline and overall strategy for the Allergan Aesthetics Neurotoxins portfolio to help support our long-term leadership of the category through innovation and category expansion.

This individual will lead a team to develop and deliver against a pipeline strategy that contributes business growth, drives category leadership, and optimizes the portfolio value. This includes building a deep understanding of the global market landscape, trends, customer and consumer needs, and creating a plan to address gaps through internal and external innovation. They will provide the strategic oversight and guidance to manage the interdependencies and learnings across our neurotoxins franchise, including commercial interdependencies with therapeutic neurotoxins programs, to maximize the success of our pipeline.

The role demands strong leadership and close collaboration with global, cross-functional colleagues, including R&D, Operations, US and International Consumer and Customer Marketing, and Area and Affiliate level delivery teams.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as the accountable commercial owner of the global aesthetics neurotoxins pipeline and franchise strategy

  • Builds and leads a high-performing team to gather key global commercial insights - based on market research, competitive intelligence, KOL perspectives and internal insights - to deliver a robust aesthetic neurotoxin strategy

  • Identify opportunities for growth via new product introduction and portfolio optimization – creating a unified internal and external innovation strategy

  • Responsible for ensuring robust early commercial planning and smooth transition of pipeline programs to downstream execution teams

  • Develops close working relationship with leaders across R&D, regulatory/legal, medical affairs, market research, operations, marketing and key opinion leaders; bringing together the best of the business to drive results in a heavily matrixed, fast-paced environment

  • Navigates competing priorities across functions and regions to align on the best path forward for the overall global facial injectables business

  • Ensures strong cross-functional and leadership alignment on the aesthetic neurotoxin strategy and key commercial inputs into the associated pipeline programs

  • Maintains robust understanding of competitor insights and associated implications for the Allergan Aesthetics neurotoxin portfolio

  • Supports agile decision making to adapt strategy as needed based on evolving insights and pipeline developments

  • Maintains accountability for the development of rigorous aesthetic neurotoxin forecasts to support portfolio optimisation and business decision making, and a rigorous LRP submission

  • Owns budget and proactively partner with Finance to ensure timely review of and management of financial resources

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (e.g., travel):

Ability to travel up to 20%, including overnight stays

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong strategic thinking, with a proven ability to develop robust strategies and support sound decision making based on drawing together disparate insights

  • Demonstrated track record of leading a diverse team through a compelling shared vision, nurturing and developing key talent

  • Proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally, leveraging strong interpersonal skills to successfully driven consensus in a matrixed organization

  • Strong analytical expertise

  • Able to pivot appropriately from high level strategic decisions with less than perfect information, to detail orientation and tactical execution

  • Highly agile and adaptable, with an ability to adapt strategy as information evolves

  • Robust understanding and experience of different stages of the product life cycle, including product launch

  • Strong communicator, with excellent oral, written, and presentation skills; proven ability to interact directly with and influence Senior Management and global thought leaders in aesthetics

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree within a relevant course of study

  • MBA, PhD, or other advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medicine, Sciences, etc.) strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pharmaceuticals or medical devices, with experience in medical aesthetics strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years’ people leadership experience

  • Global experience preferred

  • Experienced and comfortable working in a highly matrixed organization

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
