CACI has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Service Desk Technician . This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, CENTCOM AOR. This position is required to travel OCONUS.

The Opportunity:

Performs a variety of difficult assignments associated with monitoring and controlling computer operating systems. Supervises and manages the daily activities of configuration and operation of business systems. Optimizes system operation and resource utilization, and performs system capacity analysis and planning. Provides assistance to users in accessing and using business systems. Sets up and maintains more than one type of computer system such as Open VMS Systems/DSM environments, UNIX systems (SCO and SUN), and Windows systems. Analyzes system faults and troubleshoots and runs diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems. Evaluates and installs developed software during various phases of testing. Reviews and prepares documentation for systems, tests and installation of software. Investigates and recommends methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Initiates preventive maintenance on the operating systems as well as repair to system/environment problems. Administers systems/environment solutions for multiple projects with varying schedules. Interfaces with vendors for trouble calls. Supports the planning of system/environment requirements for individual projects. May provide work direction and guidance to others.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, have a positive customer service attitude, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users. Specifically, the Help Desk Technician will be responsible for supporting systems and applications on a geographically dispersed Windows 10 Enterprise network with multiple types of servers and server applications. The HD Tech will be responsible for Windows system administrator functions supporting a global Active Directory infrastructure in a mixed Windows environment. The HD Tech will provide journeyman level knowledge and specialized experience to include management of help desks in a multi-user environment, a comprehensive understanding of PC operating systems, a working knowledge of network and electronic mail operations and prior supervision of help desk employees. Provide Tier 0/1 support to the customer and their components to include Tier 0/1 infrastructure troubleshooting and support that involves the configuration and administration of servers in their area of operation.

Additionally, the HD Tech will provide remote support and/or travel to customer servers and sites as required. The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining and supporting network devices consisting of primarily Cisco routers and switches. Using this knowledge the system administrator will be successful in providing necessary administration and maintenance support of this system.

  • The Contractor shall operate a Tier 1-2 help desk, including desk side support for onsite personnel.

  • The Contractor shall conduct basic administration of networks, servers and applications.

  • The Contractor shall perform installation, upgrade, configuration, and problem resolution support for existing and future upgrades of off-the-shelf (packaged) networking, printers, scanners, cabling, phones, laptops, desktops, operating systems, and user applications.

  • The Contractor shall manage and document help desk support for reporting problems, troubleshooting, and tracking routine work requests to ensure problem resolution. Summaries shall be included in monthly status reporting.

  • All Contractor personnel providing network and computer systems administration will be certified in accordance with applicable DoD Policy, such as DODM 8140.01, Cyberspace Workforce Management.

  • The Contractor shall be required to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, standards, and guidelines affecting Information Technology projects, which may be created or changed periodically.

  • The Contractor will work 6 days per week, 10 hours per day.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Currently hold an adjudicated TS/SCI Clearance and be able to maintain it.

  • 3+ years of experience in Systems Administration work

  • Professional and responsible system administration of Microsoft Windows servers

  • Effective communications throughout all levels of operational command

  • Experience troubleshooting and administering Microsoft windows 7 desktop systems.

  • Active directory account creation and administration experience

  • Experience with Desktop Support and Troubleshooting

  • Experience working with and supporting Cisco Routers and Switches

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) Win 10 or Microsoft 365 Certification: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate MD-100 / MD- 101 or Microsoft 102 Endpoint Administrator

  • CompTIA Security + (IAT Level II or greater).

Desired:

  • ITIL v3 - Foundation

  • Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files

  • Experience with Microsoft SCCM

  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs

  • Experience working in VmWare ESXi environments

  • Experience with network storage (SAN/NAS)

  • Experience with enterprise backup solutions

  • Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards

  • Experience working with and supporting Cisco Routers and Switches

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$75,200 - 158,100 USD
