Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you will be responsible for Global Medical Affairs strategic activities and initiatives, working as part of the Global Medical Affairs team, and in cross-functional groups with Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Pharmacovigilance, Epidemiology, Marketing, Market Access, and Communications.

  • You will contribute to the design and execution of brand strategic goals to allow for efficient, scientifically, and medically adequate launch readiness.

  • Furthermore, you will identify and engage with key external experts, plan and execute consultancy meetings, and may support presentations at international meetings in cooperation with Scientific Relations. You will drive patient engagement in cooperation with Patient Advocacy Relations (PAR) and their respective plans.

  • With your expertise, you will review "Investigator-Initiated Studies" (IIS) and/or “External Collaborative Research” (ECR) proposals from a scientific, medical, and strategic perspective.

  • Moreover, you provide scientific and medical input to the publication strategy and planning. You will be responsible for developing the medical narrative, the communication strategy, and leading the development of assets to support data roll-out. Reviewing manuscripts may also be part of your business routine.

  • Additionally, you will collaborate with commercial colleagues and provide scientific input for the development and review of promotional materials, documents and presentations for the assigned drugs and/or indications.

  • You will lead the creation and co-creation of scientific materials.

  • Utilizing your networking skills, you initiate and build collaborations with local Medical Affairs in other countries and thereby ensure the seamless knowledge transfer and the integration of local knowledge and needs.

Requirements

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferably in an international role as Global Medical Advisor, Oncology experience is strongly preferred.

  • Ability to interpret scientific and clinical trial data, preferably with expertise in Oncology.

  • Strategic thinking and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, with sound understating of medico-marketing processes and experience launching oncology compounds.

  • Focus on the international scientific community, top level medical experts and all relevant stakeholders.

  • A deep understanding of the functioning of drug development and commercialization within the pharmaceutical industry, relevant indication, key stakeholders, key competitors, solid experience in study design, data analysis and interpretation are required.

  • Good presentation, training and facilitation skills.

  • Strong written and oral communications skills in English.

The senior role additionally requires:

  • Longstanding experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with experience in introducing new medicines and/or expansion of indications to the market at a local or regional/global level within the Therapeutic Area of Oncology

  • Sound understanding of clinical development and key study concepts incl. background, sample, size, design, timing, feasibility.

  • In-depth regulatory or reimbursement expertise with prior successful interactions with various regulatory/reimbursement agencies

  • Excellent leadership communication (oral and written) as well as negotiation and influencing skills.
