Tasks & responsibilities

  • With your strategic prowess, persuasive skills, and assertive nature, you'll be all set to craft and execute category strategies for your global and regional categories. Your strategies will redefine the norms in terms of market speed, long-term sustainable sourcing decisions, competitive sourcing, and productivity.

  • Always on the lookout for innovation, you'll keep a keen eye on supply markets, scout for new partners, service providers, and solutions for your categories, evaluate risks, and pioneer new channels.

  • You'll be the driving force behind implementing innovative processes that lead to external cost reduction.

  • Besides, you'll be on the hunt for new suppliers, evaluate current and potential ones, and foster strong relationships with existing and new business partners.

  • When it comes to supply-related risks, you'll work hand in hand with internal business partners and local purchasers to identify, assess, and categorize sourcing risks and devise risk mitigation strategies.

  • You'll also serve as the go-to person for assigned business partners for Sourcing, providing support on cross-category issues and sharing relevant information.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration or Supply Chain or Logistics

  • Several years of international category management experience in sourcing, as well as initial experience in a GxP regulated environment

  • Knowledge in supplier and business partner relationship management, markets in API/ Chemistry and/or CDMO would be preferred and supplier analysis and demand management

  • Experience in risk management, risk mitigation and compliance (including due diligence) as well as know-how in managing total cost of ownership as well as savings and NPV

  • Open-minded, motivated, persuasive, and perseverant personality with outstanding internal and external relationship management skills and willingness to take on responsibility

  • Fluency in English, German knowledge is a plus
