Organization Overview:

The Sr. Manager TSMS Laboratory – IAPI is primarily responsible for the productivity and development of the employees for the TSMS Laboratory team with the purpose of delivering on scientific site initiatives. Additionally, they will work with the TS/MS Associate Director to influence and implement within the TS/MS organization and across functional disciplines to support the TS/MS technical agenda and IAPI Business Plan priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and grow knowledge of scientific principles within the organization

  • Establish a Safety-First Culture, modify behaviors that lead to injuries and provide timely responses to identified safety issues or near misses.

  • Provide oversight for the IAPI Laboratory ensuring inspection readiness

  • Ensure team is effectively collaborating with frontline TS/MS, and the other functions in IAPI to ensure appropriate execution of all TSMS Lab deliverables.

  • Develop and lead a technical staff

  • Provide guidance on time management and priorities for direct reports.

  • Influence and implement the network technical agenda within a multi-discipline technical environment.

  • Ensure team benchmarks internally and externally, driving continuous improvement opportunities for IAPI

Basic Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and administrative skills to effectively influence diverse groups, make appropriate and timely decisions, and identify and resolve problems.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and effectively delegate assignments to technical staff to ensure on-time delivery of projects and tasks.

  • High-quality skills to include: Scientific and technical knowledge, Teamwork and interpersonal, technical knowledge, decision making, multi-tasking, ability to prioritize, ability to influence groups, attention to details, written and oral communication skills, computer skills, complex problem solving, mentoring/leadership, self-motivation, clear understanding of all cGMPs, polices, procedures, guidelines, and ensuring a fair/equitable/safe work environment.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Additional relevant industrial experience in any of the following associated disciplines such as: Protein Manufacturing, Engineering, Development, and Quality Control is desirable.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in scientific disciplines of Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Protein Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Bioanalytical Chemistry, or Bio/ Chemical Engineering are minimum requirements.

Additional Information:

  • Minimal Travel

  • Day Shift. May require working off hours to achieve urgent business

  • No certifications required.

  • Tasks require entering manufacturing areas which require wearing appropriate PPE.

  • Includes supervising direct reports.
