Requires travel within central Indiana: day travel only, approximately 10-20% of the time, for site visits.

- Under guidance of senior Professional Engineers, progressively develop the ability to perform calculations in service of projects:
- Understand and develop gravity loading
- Understand and develop lateral loading, including wind and seismic
- Apply loads to a given structure, perform analysis to develop efficient member sizes
- Verify stability of structure
- Trace load paths from roof or upper levels, through the overall structure, to foundations
- Review geotechnical information and perform foundation design calculations
- Develop subterranean structures soil, water, and superimposed equivalent fluid loading
- Apply subterranean loading to perform analysis of subterranean structures, including vaults, tanks and deep wells.
- Apply analysis and design to produce drawings which clearly communicate member sizes and relationships for the use of construction personnel
- Perform connection design, and develop drawings and project details which clearly convey design intent for the use of construction personnel
- Assist in quality assurance reviews, to ensure any design errors or flaws are eliminated prior to the issue of construction documentation
- Begin to develop an understanding of project delivery systems, including operational design and delivery of segmented projects for clients, including sub-consultant teams.
- Under guidance of senior Professional Engineers, progressively develop ongoing project construction administration skills:
- Receive, file, review and apply disposition to project required submittals in a timely manner
- Review and respond to contractor requests for information a timely manner
- Perform field observations to ensure actual construction meet intent of drawings and specifications; develop and file reports
- Review and accept testing and other specified criteria for Owner acceptance
- Understand construction schedules and scheduling, work to resolve any issues which impinge on meeting deadlines
- Develop understanding of budgets, work toward incorporating efficiencies and quality improvements into work tasks on an ongoing basis
- Maintain/Develop client relationships as exposed to clients in meetings and communication
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structures.
- Willingness to pursue/obtain a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Salary
: $68,000-92,000/year, depending on experience and qualifications
