Role Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for the identification of schedule and cost variances and the facilitation of successful project completion. You will provide overall management direction to project team(s), establishes project objectives and policies, maintain liaison with prime client contractors, and monitor progress and financial activities.

Salary Statement:

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $67,314.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact and is responsible for overall work progress and technical performance of project.

  • Responsible for assembling project team and assigning individual responsibilities.

  • Understand project objectives and role of each team members.

  • Review contract plans specifications and estimates for scope, compliance, and constructability.

  • Attend key project meetings and work with team to ensure project scope compliance.

  • Prepare reports and analysis to manage risk and recommend necessary adjustments.

  • Present project status and manage the project change process.

  • Manage the project team through all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout consistent with established project delivery processes to meet the scope, schedule, budget, and other specified requirements.

  • Complete the scope of work while ensuring quality, financial, risk management and policy expectations are met.

  • Responsible for overall work progress and performance on project.

What You'll Need for Success:

The ideal candidate in this role should minimally have either

  • a Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of experience, or

  • an Associate’s Degree with 5+ years of experience, or

  • at least 7+ years of experience applying the below, outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role.

Related certifications and coursework may be considered for education or experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of project budgets with understanding of all financial implications/issues;

  • Ability to minimize and manage changes to the scope of a project;

  • Ability to manage project uncertainly and applies resources to minimize, monitor and/or control risks;

  • Ability to understand project objectives and outline the role of each team member;

  • Ability to effectively manage major conflicts that may arise;

  • Detail oriented to ensure compliance with contract terms and condition.

  • Effective communication skills;

  • Ability to engage project specific public and agency stakeholders.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.

Difficulty of Work:

The Project Manager must be familiar with the project objectives and the role and function of each team member to effectively coordinate the team's activities. Must be familiar with the entire scope and requirements of moderately complex projects and serve as a liaison between all team members to ensure expectations are clear and are being met. The project Manager must exercise considerable judgment in implementing procedures, policies, practices, and precedents. Employees' Recommendations and decisions can significantly impact project delivery, scope, or budget. You must remain cognizant of the potential impact of decisions/recommendations on the agency and other stakeholders.

Personal Work Relationships:

This individual will be expected to partner with agency personnel and related stakeholders working towards completion of assigned functions. Exceptional customer service is provided to agency partners and/or the general public.

Partnership with relevant public agencies, federal, state & local governments and/or community leaders may be required.

Physical Effort:

This role performs work in an environment where sitting for extended periods of time could be expected.

Working Conditions:

This role performs work in a standard office environment.
