Description
This position is with the leading medical diagnostic company in the U.S. This local facility is their central laboratory for testing services and bioanalysis services. Currently their Safety Testing Team is actively seeking a new Medical Lab Technician I to join their group long-term.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitor operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skill Requirements:
1) Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or related field
2) Minimum 1+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required
3) Instrument troubleshooting and calibration experience
Nice To Have Technical Skills:
1) ASCP or AMT certification is preferred
2) Prior validation experience
3) Proficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
Soft Skill Requirements:
1) Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
2) High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
3) Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
4) Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.20 - $26.20/hr.
