WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Surveyor – Professional Licensed for our Right of Way Engineering Team!

This position will sit out of our Indianapolis, IN office.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The position requires strong technical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. The candidate must be an enthusiastic and motivated person to lead small to large sized projects and tasks and serve as a key technical resource on all types of challenging right of way engineering projects.

YOUR IMPACT:

• Professional Licensed Surveyor will perform right of way engineering design, analysis, task management, and project management duties on all types of right of way engineering projects. The selected candidate will be responsible for work including comprehension of title reports, setting up base files, conducting area calculations, writing of parcel documentation, creation of legal descriptions, parcel plats, right of way plan production, and other related efforts. Typical duties may include the following:

• Perform drawings using computer-aided design (CADD) related to the development of transportation projects in Microstation/InRoads.

• Support preparation of base files that take in consideration and determining the existing right of way and inputting the proposed right of way for the project.

• Manage right of way engineering tasks and identify changes and risks.

• Work independently with minimal oversight and provides guidance and leadership to the right of way team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.

• Demonstrate a high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

• Determine client requirements and adhere to the schedules, and budgets of projects.

• Collaborate with professionals, other engineers, planners, on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects as well as other business opportunities.

WHO YOU ARE:

Required Qualifications:

• Professionally Licensed Surveyor

• Professional Licensed Surveyor registration in the State of Indiana.

• 7+ years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications and Attributes:

• Five (5) years of right of way experience

• Good technical writing, analytical, and communication skills

• Experience leading right of way engineering tasks

• Proficiency in Microstation

• Engaged and active in industry-related professional organizations

• Knowledge of relevant INDOT and local agency design manual for right of way engineering, specifications, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

• Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.

• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies.
