Jacobs Indiana Market Leader in Indianapolis, Indiana

The Indiana Market Leader will be responsible for lead Talent Development, Technical Excellence, and Market Growth. Through this dynamic position, you will provide leadership, champion inclusion and diversity, drive project delivery for local and global clients, support a culture of innovation, apply a disciplined deployment of capital, and provide exceptional client service to ensure operational excellence across Indiana.

Within Talent Development, grow and nurture talent, expertise, advocate for technical career paths, create career opportunities, manage workloads, and build capabilties in response to the local market. Your Technical Excellence responsibilities will include understanding and promoting technical standards, best practices, and training. Coordinating and development relationships with our Regional Design Leads, Regional Market Solution Leaders and Portfolio Managers. Both of these domains will support Market Growth. As part of Market Growth, you will be responsible for understanding market trends and drivers, identify core clients and opportunities, and partners with sales and market solutions to bring the full capabilities of Jacobs to the Indiana market. You will leverage all of Jacobs global capabilities to deliver for clients to drive growth with emphasis across our accelerators that include digital solutions, global integrated delivery, climate change resiliency, and other market drivers.

Working in collaboration with other regional leaders, the Indiana market leader provides leadership, development, and management of Indiana’s capability to meet business targets. Through your inspirational and visionary leadership and role modelling of Jacobs core values, you will foster an inclusive and diverse culture in your team that embodies Jacobs Culture of Caring and prioritizes the health and wellbeing of your people. You will provide strategic and operational direction to your leadership team and through your exceptional strategic thinking, you will identify and drive the wide initiatives that support Jacobs’ purpose and values. Your extensive client relationships to both domestic and global delivery, industry standing and outstanding ability to analyze, interpret and relate global and local market trends will allow us to identify and anticipate client needs and stay relevant in the future.

You will be accountable for the recruitment, retention and drive various development programs within the Sector to align with the business need and global gender diversity target of 40:40:20. You will promote deep domain capability and talent growth in partnership with the Department Lead within the Sector and encourage team to be engaged, resilient, adaptable and inspire them to strive for innovation while maintaining outstanding project delivery, proactive commercial management and contribute to disciplined investment decisions. You will be responsible to support multiple career paths for your team and help team members to develop individual goals and align them with the key business objectives. One of your key focus areas to drive cultural alignment and champion Jacobs initiatives.

Working in partnership with the Department Lead, you will be accountable for developing deep domain capabilities and foster an ecosystem for agile career opportunities for your team, fostering digital enablement within the Sector. You will be able to develop high performing team culture, leading by example and seen as an acceptable and inspirational leader. You will be able to manage high level negotiation, be highly commercially astute and be able to understand the Profit & Loss and balance sheet to enable setting and delivery of key commercial performance objectives.

You will provide leadership to the entire sector, being passionate about project delivery excellence for both domestic and global projects. You will work with the Sales leaders, CAMs, Manager of Projects (MOPs) to set clear direction and provide a strong role model regarding client focus and project delivery. You advise the Department Lead on financial performance of your sector and central to ensuring we create lasting and sustainable value for our shareholders.

'- Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in design of water and wastewater treatment, collection, and distribution projects and related construction activities.

  • Demonstrated experience with project management, staff management, and/or business development

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to lead and work with multi-disciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects

  • Current IN PE or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • Master of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field

  • 15+ years of related experience in water/wastewater industry
