Make a Difference

The Director of Nursing will support the clinical and business direction of acute behavioral health with an emphasis on the strategic planning and business development, clinical outcomes, quality management, and excellence in customer service. The position provides the leadership and direction to develop, recommend, and implement programs, policies, procedures, and standards. The Director of Nursing will oversee inpatient behavioral health at Community Fairbanks Recovery Center, North Pavilion, East, and in Kokomo.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

Applicants for this position should effectively communicate with all levels of the organization verbally, and in writing, and through technology such as dashboards and PowerPoint. Applicants gain and use knowledge of best practices, processes, laws, regulations, tools, and software within the subject matter area.

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Must be a Bachelor’s in nursing if starting without a Master’s degree in nursing.

  • Master’s degree in nursing is required within five years of hire.

  • Three (3) or more years of progressive management/leadership experience is required.

  • Five (5) or more years of inpatient nursing experience is required.

  • Experience in behavioral health, mental health, and/or addiction recovery nursing is strongly preferred.

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).

  • Certification in a relevant specialty or nursing administration is required within three (3) years of hire.

  • Collaborate and build effective relationships.

  • Demonstrate strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.

  • Independently resolve problems, plan strategically, and think creatively and critically.

  • Work analytically.

  • Build, motivate, and lead a high-performing team.
