    The Systems Administrator will work on Plante Moran’s internal Infrastructure Team to support our staff and systems with multiple facets of our IT infrastructure operations, providing a hands-on approach to diverse challenges . This role will assist the broader US based team and will provide support for our India operations and US after-hours support as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, virtual desktop solutions, and have a good understanding of network troubleshooting . They should be self-motivated, have critical thinking skills and able to work with minimal supervision; have the drive and ability to learn new technologies ; be willing to experiment and challenge the status quo .

    The role.

    This role will work under the guidance and supervision of the US based team and will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Provide support, analysis, and remediation on escalated support incidents from our help desk primarily supporting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and other solutions used by Plante Moran’s India and China offices.

  • Provide technical support to end-users, diagnosing and troubleshooting a wide variety of hardware and software issues primarily with Windows servers, desktop hardware, desktop applications, VDI, networking, and other related systems.

  • Assist with standard maintenance and patching of systems including servers, applications, and network equipment.

  • Evaluate and remediate security vulnerabilities and implement configuration changes to protect our client and firm data.

  • Monitor availability of solutions and ability to troubleshoot and restore services.

  • As needed participation in after-hours maintenance windows to update, change, and install various systems; Occasional participation in the on-call rotation.

    The qualifications.

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working in Information Technology.

  • Working knowledge and previous experience with: Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019, or 2022; Active Directory administration, and Group Policy.

  • Experience troubleshooting PC hardware, software, drivers, wired and Wi-Fi network connectivity and performance issues.

  • Ability to collaborate with other teams, vendors, and other partners to resolve more complex issues.

  • This position may require occasional local and very rare international travel.

  • Proficiency and working knowledge of the following will help you stand out, but are not required:

  • Azure Virtual Desktop or other VDI technologies

  • SD-WAN

  • Network subnetting and IP routing

  • Secure Web Gateway solutions (Zscaler, Netskope, Prisma Access, etc.)

  • Linux server administration experience

  • Software application packaging and scripting experience, including experience with editing and deploying software with MSI files, SCCM, strong PowerShell scripting skills, VBScript, and Wise Script.
