Robert Half Legal Secretary in Independence, Ohio

Description

We are in search of a Legal Secretary in the Cleveland OH area. This role primarily supports attorneys specializing in labor and employment law, requiring proficiency in legal terminology, procedures, and document management. The role entails a blend of document preparation, calendar management, file management, research, client communication, and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting, preparing, and ensuring accuracy and consistency in various legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts.

• Managing attorneys' schedules by coordinating appointments, meetings, and court appearances with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

• Maintaining and organizing physical and electronic files, ensuring confidentiality and easy accessibility.

• Implementing efficient filing systems and document retrieval methods.

• Conducting legal research using various databases and resources, summarizing findings, and providing relevant information to attorneys.

• Responding to client inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner, handling incoming and outgoing correspondence.

• Performing administrative duties, including photocopying, scanning, faxing, and maintaining inventory of office supplies.

• Utilizing skills in Labor Law and Employment Law for effective legal support and document preparation.

Requirements • Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent; higher education or certifications in Legal Studies preferred

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Secretary or in a related role

• Proficient in Labor Law and Employment Law

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficient in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

• Strong typing skills and ability to prepare legal documents accurately

• Capable of working independently and as part of a team

• Must be legally eligible to work in the specified location.
