Brown and Caldwell Lead Process Mechanical Designer in Independence, Ohio

Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Process Mechanical Designer to join our team, if you are an individual who takes pride in delivering exceptional work and are looking to expand your process mechanical design craft under the supervisions of industry leading professionals. You will work directly with senior process mechanical designers and BIM Leads on multi-discipline designs for facilities primarily serving the water and wastewater industries. Detailed Description: Under the direction of design professionals, you will develop designs in BIM documents utilizing Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD and Bentley software. In this capacity you will work under the direction of a group of senior process mechanical designers and BIM Leads. Our ideal candidate will have some experience in design coordination of multidiscipline models and be excited about the prospect of learning to develop plans and sections to communicate engineering design. Project work includes: development of P&IDs, equipment layout, design of process piping and utility systems, development of contract drawings, field investigations, and support during construction. Responsibilities: Execute work on wastewater and water utilities and industrial facilities including treatment plant, pumping station, and bio-system facility planning and design. Annotate contract drawings and address redline mark-ups. Understand information required for development of bid-ready drawings. Maintain graphic quality of projects across all disciplines. Interact frequently and effectively with Designers, Content Development team, BIM Production team, Engineers and other project team members. Perform designer level duties with minimal input from Engineers. Working knowledge of design industry workflows, production cycle and priorities. Desired Skills and Experience: 10+ years of experience in municipal and/or industrial projects preferred. Experience with BIM design using Revit a must. Experience with BIM design using AutoCAD a must. Experience with BIM design using MicroStation a plus. Experience in 3D modeling, drawing production and associated workflows.
