Cleveland Clinic Clinical Social Worker for Autism Mobile Intensive Intervention Team (MIIT) in Independence, Ohio

As a Clinical Social Worker, you will investigate, assess and plan interventions to help patients and their family members cope with social, economic and environmental problems. This position is part of a unique Mobile Intensive Intervention Team that will go to the client in a time of need. The Clinical Social Work position will consult with BCBAs and psychiatry.

The Ideal caregiver holds a license in social work and has worked with the Autism Spectrum population. They understand or are willing to learn local resources for ASD and enjoy interacting with families. This individual must be comfortable interacting with distraught parents/caregivers to give them hope that there are resources to assist them and their child.

The Clinical Social Worker will report clinically to their Mobile Intensive Intervention Team. The position is in the Division of Pediatric Psychology in the Center for Pediatric Behavioral Health and Neurosciences. Immediate supervisor is a mental health therapist, head of division is psychologist, head of center is a psychiatrist.

Responsibilities:

  • Interviews patients, assesses priorities and documents case activity.

  • Consults with team managers, statutory and voluntary agencies and patient's relatives to ensure compliance with patient's treatment plan.

  • Assists clients/families with obtaining community assistance by referral to proper resources.

  • Develops and maintains working relationships with community health, welfare and social agencies and seeks creative means to assist the client with his/her needs.

  • At the Clinical Social Work Intern (CSW-I) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) level, conducts clinical services such as intakes, assessments, and psycho-therapy.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • At the Licensed Social Worker (LSW)/Clinical Social Work Intern (CSW-I) level, assessment, and treatment skills as obtained by the Master's in Social Work.

  • At the Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW)/Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) level, assessment, diagnostic and treatment skills as obtained by the LISW/LCSW.

Certifications:

  • State Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Clinical Social Work Intern (CSW-I), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license as state requires.

Complexity of Work:

  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Work Experience:

  • At the LSW/CSW-I Level: Master's degree in Social Work. Ohio/Nevada License. LSW/CSW-I. May have experience in hospital care or closely related field as employee, graduate or undergraduate intern.

  • At the LISW/LCSW Level: Master's degree in Social Work. Ohio License at the Independent level (LISW), Nevada license at the Licensed Clinical Social Work level (LCSW). Requires two years of post graduate employment with clinical supervision

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to climb stairs, pull, push and facilitate movement of the patient.

  • Must have normal or correctable vision.

  • Must have normal or correctable hearing to be able to hear normal conversations.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time.
