Job Summary:
As a Shipping Clerk, you are responsible for effectively and efficiently completing shipping processes, including verification of shipping documents, proper data entry of product being shipped and effective document management.
Key Responsibilities:
Regular and consistent attendance
Train and mentor other team members
Print out the necessary shipping documents needed for the day
Verify that all scratched product is documented correctly on the scratch sheet
Check loading diagrams against the pick job summary report to verify all pick jobs are loaded in the proper order
Close, post, ship and invoice all outbound loads after making any necessary adjustments (weight errors, re-stock errors, scratch cases, etc.)
Update the customer and/or supervisor to any changes in the load sheet
Print the delivery documents (final Driver’s manifest)
Run Forklift operator Stats for supervisor Warehouse Management, PID history, Pallet ID Moves, RF User/Task
Print pick stats out of APT
Check APT to ensure team members time and performance are accurate
Properly document outbound trailers in shipping log
Promptly report damage and all inventory discrepancies to supervisor
Maintain cleanliness and repair of dock, and facility areas
Maintain all food safety, housekeeping and other applicable standards
Assist Shipping Supervisor with monitoring bins and selectors and making necessary changes
Cross-train to cover Receiving Clerk functions as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred
Shipping or warehouse experience preferred
Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred
Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources
Accuracy and attention to detail
Able to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to read and understand label data
Ability to read small print on packaging and paperwork, with or without corrective lenses
Ability to use email, word-processing, spreadsheets, WMS and other applications
Ability to communicate clearly on the phone with customers
Ability to do basic math to ensure proper counts, verify pallet ID numbers
Ability to take directions using the headset selection system (such as VoCollect)
Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer to include nights, weekends and holidays
Environmental Job Conditions:
Independently lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally
Sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment
Grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis
Endurance for continuous, fast paced work
Fluctuating temperatures within the perishable DC including freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)
Products may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
Utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, etc.

At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $19.00.
