Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Unit Position Summary

Seeking a Community Health Worker to assist with a clinical trial to evaluate the MI MOM app (www.pc-pramm.org), designed to support pregnancy and postpartum. Responsibilities will include:

  • providing online patient support via live chat sessions, developing location based resource lists, developming and maintaining connections with local agencies.

  • Facilitating appointments, home visits, and finding resources to address barriers for appointments (transportation, childcare, etc.)

  • Communicating with users in a kind and respectful manner, while also handling sensitive topics like substance use and mental health

  • Documentation of interactions and services provided, data collection and data entry

Desired Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Community Health Worker certificate

  • Strong communication skills including active listening, respectful problem solving, reassurance and de-escalation during crisis management

  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to manage multiple clients, tasks, deadlines and to take detailed notes

Desired:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience working with clients or patients in pregnancy and postpartum

  • Strong computer technology skills, including familiarity with data collection software, such as GIVE EXAMPLES
