POSITION SUMMARY

As the VP of Marketing – Performance Solutions , you will play a critical role in shaping the business’s marketing strategies, brand management, product management and market resource efforts. Located in Deerfield near Chicago, Illinois, the role necessitates leading a team in product and marketing management responsible for market research, digital marketing, pricing administration and customer facing marketing engagement. The VP of Marketing – Performance Solutions is responsible for supporting the execution of the commercial strategy while providing business intelligence insights through market research to further improve and refine execution.

POSITION SCOPE

The main missions of the role are:

  • Lead Strategic Brand Management : Develop and execute marketing plans that align with the company’s overall business objectives. This includes defining the brand’s positioning, messaging, and visual identity.

  • Lead Strategic Product Management : Lead direct reports responsible for market facing commercial activities including price management, customer insights and market participation execution.

  • Budget Oversight : Review and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for various campaigns, advertising, and promotional activities.

  • Market Research : Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscapes. Use this information to inform marketing and business management strategies.

  • Digital Marketing : Collaborate with the internal communications department to develop digital marketing initiatives including social media, content marketing, email campaigns, and website optimization.

  • Team Leadership : Manage and inspire the marketing and product management team while fostering collaboration, creativity, and execution.

  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams : Work closely with product development, sales, and other departments to ensure cohesive messaging and consistent brand representation.

  • Performance Metrics : Set measurable goals and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing efforts.

  • Maintain Company Image : Ensure that the company’s image and reputation align with its values and business goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Identify market and technical themes for competitive advantage in line with Vantage's growth strategy.

  • Lead and manage our team of marketers and product managers to ensure the success of the strategy.

  • Set current and long-term goals for internal teams.

  • Make data-driven decisions to hit company goals.

  • Design and manage the Marketing department’s budget.

  • Develop and implement the strategy for pricing, messaging, and selling of our products.

  • Regularly update market trends and competition maps.

  • Prioritize and pursue the highest impact opportunities using data to increase lead generation.

  • Leverage CRM Knowledge to closely monitor, measure, and interpret key metrics across the organization.

  • Develop and implement a cohesive marketing plan to increase brand awareness.

  • Monitor marketing campaigns and improve them when necessary.

  • Prioritize marketing projects and allocate resources accordingly.

  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on marketing metrics for the Executive Vice President – Performance Solutions.

  • Conduct market analysis to identify challenges and opportunities for growth.

  • Provide guidance and ideas to organize effective marketing events.

  • Guide projects by ensuring efficiency, learning, methodologies, and support.

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration, synergies, and innovation initiatives with Strategic Marketing.

  • Provide communication and advisory support on trends and opportunities.

  • Explore ways to leverage data analytics and market insights to drive data-driven decision-making.

  • Collaborate with data analytics teams to extract actionable insights for sales and marketing initiatives.

  • Collaborate with international teams to adapt and tailor regional strategies for different global markets considering cultural, regulatory, and economic nuances.

  • Define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success and impact of strategic growth initiatives.

  • Regularly assess and report progress to stakeholders and leadership.

The Ideal Candidate

Desired Background

  • Candidates will possess experience with team management, business management, business development and sales experience. Ideally, the candidate will have experience in chemical markets and key chemistries including oleochemicals, petrochemicals and their derivatives. Experience in nonionic surfactants, alkoxylates, propoxylates, ethoxylates, fatty acids, glycerin, esters and their derivatives is preferred.

  • A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other related discipline is required; MBA is preferred.
