Amazon Software Development Engineer, Robot Detection in Iasi, Romania

Description

The Robot Detection team is seeking a Software Development Engineer passionate about big data technologies, cybersecurity and machine learning. We combine these three areas to accomplish the mission to isolate traffic generated by web bots on Amazon’s customer-facing websites and applications.

You'll have the freedom (and encouragement) to experiment, improve, invent, and innovate on behalf of our customers.

Key job responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for implementing state-of-the-art tools and scalable distributed systems to automatically process and analyze billions of hits per day using parallel algorithms on top of Amazon Web Services’ cloud-computing infrastructure.

You will research novel methodologies to separate traffic data originating from web bots from those originating from human customers. You will have the opportunity to redesign processing systems or propose, design and implement new ones.

The ideal candidate for our team is a thinker and a doer: someone who loves sophisticated algorithms and mathematical precision, while enjoying implementing real large-scale distributed systems.

You will have a constant focus on latest trends in terms of web bots. You'll be part of the working groups root causing events caused by bot generated traffic. You make sure the tooling your team owns is still relevant in terms of accommodating logic to detect latest bot entities, and when not, you'll be instrumental in major system redesigns.

About the team

The web traffic classification provided by our group enables internal teams to improve their services availability, gather reliable business metrics and provide the best experience to both customers and robots.
