About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Securities Research Manager. This role involves managing a team of professionals working with Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Division, focused on

  • Relationship management and Portfolio Monitoring and Underwriting activities for companies in the Diversified Industrials sector

  • Manage a team of 7-10 professionals who will be working on the above areas

  • The aforementioned teams work on preparing pitching materials and financial models, which helps in company valuation and advisory to corporate clients

  • There will be significant opportunities to learn, develop and work as an integral member of I&P CIB business

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop a team of analysts in the Industrials Corporate Banking Team

  • Work with US stakeholders to define the scope of work for India team and build integration with US VP’s, MD’s and Heads of Corporate Banking Group

  • Drive projects and work along with juniors, on various work streams that form key components of the loan lifecycle

  • Work with US team members to build financials models and historical financial analysis to assist senior bankers in pitches and other advisory materials

  • Understand and respond to the queries raised by the Onshore underwriter and work in a fast paced and iterative manner

  • Develop strong stakeholder relationship as the team would be working closely with other teams during the various stages of the projects, ad-hoc special projects as needed by onshore team

  • Mentor analysts and associates on basic and fundamentals of client origination pitches, credit reviews and underwriting

  • Contribute to various firm wide projects focused on improving efficiency, automation, regulatory compliance

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Wells Fargo's credit risk policies, risk appetite, and underwriting guidelines

  • Have strong MS excel skill with the ability to synthesize data to derive meaningful inferences

  • Mentor and guide talent development of teams and assist in hiring talent

  • Interact with multiple stakeholders to achieve the desired goal

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Securities Research industry experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 2+ years of Leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Outstanding academic qualifications – MBA / MSc Finance from a premier educational institution

  • 10+ years of experience in Corporate Banking, Credit Research or Debt Advisory, preferably in Diversified Industrials Sector

  • 2+ Years of Staffing experience

  • Strong knowledge of Credit metrics, Covenants, Capital structure, Financial statement and ratio analysis

  • Knowledge of database tools – Factset, Thomson one, Capital IQ, Factiva, Moody's and S&P Ratings methodology

  • Knowledge of VBA, Tableau, Power BI etc. would be an added advantage

  • Impeccable communication and interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to interact with senior professionals and key stakeholders

  • Strong logical, analytical skills and a systematic problem solving approach

  • Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office Applications – Power Point and Excel

  • Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure high quality of deliverables

  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management

  • Results driven, accountable and ability to work with multiple priorities in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
