T he Team:

Proprietary Data: Proprietary Data specialists help clients to create and store their own proprietary data within the S&P Global database alongside existing public market data. Specialists enable the utilization of S&P Global’s suite of analytics with our client’s proprietary financial data. Specialists collaborate directly with clients on critical data integrations leveraged in Credit Analytics, Scorecards and various other portfolio and credit monitoring workflows. As a Proprietary Data specialist, you will support premium Proprietary Data Consulting Services, including mapping and creating custom data items in templates, integrating client proprietary data to the database, and the development of bespoke workflow solutions through the S&P Capital IQ platform, Excel add-in, and FTP.

Office Tools: Office Tools is a work productivity tool embedded in Microsoft Office that helps our clients save time while building Excel models and presentations. Office Tools specialists’ partner with our clients to create dynamic presentations and pitchbooks in PowerPoint and Word and custom build Quick Keys in Excel to make modeling easier. Specialists also help our more sophisticated clients create a Content Library repository of company approved presentations, slides, charts, and logos that can be accessed by clients directly in PowerPoint.

The Impact: The team is one of the primary touchpoints for our clients, and you will be the face of the organization. Your regular day would require you to spread financials, build custom templates for our clients for spreading the financials or retrieving the data that has been spread and build presentations, answer client queries and be an advocate of our products while showcasing your vast knowledge of our tools and data. In addition to working with our clients, you will also work with our Sales team on winning and maintaining business, our Product team on future enhancements and our Client Services team on training and Client queries.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate with a high level of integrity in the handling of confidential client documents. Integrate confidential data as client proprietary data into S&P Proprietary Database.

  • Analysis of key financial statements. Confidently navigate the Income Statement, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow – of mostly private companies – inclusive of supplementary schedules, footnotes, and MD&A. Independently process client financials, while also serving as a resource to junior colleagues on their financial spreads, assisting in validating the quality of their extractions.

  • Exhibita strong understanding of Proprietary Data and Office Tools products, both in the platform and Excel. Guide clients with confidence on their capabilities relevant to individual workflows. Demonstrate a level of knowledge capable of modifying existing templates, as well creating new templates from scratch.

  • Lead new client engagements. Assess and scope requirements of users transitioning from competitor platforms (Moody’s, Bloomberg, Factset, Refinitiv, Sentio, etc.) and clearly outline the requirements for achieving parity in their workflow with S&P solutions. Execute on this plan thereafter.

  • Support Commercial partners in pre-sales situations, demoing the Proprietary Data solution and its capabilities for structuring workflows unique to the client, displacing competitor solutions. Post-sales, execute implementations – both in platform and Excel modeling – while providing ongoing training and support thereafter as a subject matter expert. 

  • Assist in ingesting/managing clients’ data within our product (Capital IQ) by more technical means, inclusive of bulk upload templates leveraging VBA and/or mapping external databases to our inbound FTP product.

  •  Build/automate custom presentations in PowerPoint and Word based on client requirements using Inhouse Office Tools Suite.

  • Supporting client base in their research by responding to their requests that comes through calls, e-mails and other forms of communication.

  • Partner with product teams on timely and thorough testing of our products, with an eye towards exceptional client experience.

  • Work with clients across multiple geographies including the Americas, EMEA, and APAC and address their requirements.

  • Consistently make proactive suggestions around product usability, presentation, and data quality.

  • Create new opportunities for Automation and LEAN to improve the workflow efficiency.

  • Ability to independently manage the interactions with various unified teams.

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate is inquisitive and quick learner of new technologies and financial products, while effectively communicating and engaging clients. They are detail-oriented, enjoy finding solutions for complex issues, and have the ability to provide step-by-step solutions.

  • Equivalent of MBA in Finance.

  • 3 to 4years experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel. VBA knowledge a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of the fundamentals of business, financial statements and investments. Proficient in research and analysis.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of capital and commodity markets.

  • Inclination towards client-oriented approach.

  • Succinct communication skills.Strong collaboration skills.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workflow with little supervision.

  • Ready to work in rotational shifts.
