Microsoft Corporation Senior UX Engineer in Hyderabad, India

Our team is a highly collaborative group of creative people including user researchers, product designers, UX Engineers, content designers, prototypes, illustrators, and more. We are looking for a Sr. UX Engineer to help us build the future of product experiences at Microsoft. About you

The ideal candidate is passionate about solving problems and has a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and best practices. They have a deep appreciation for quality and understand the work required to get there. Someone who has worked extensively with design systems, visual systems, and the design to development workflow. Most of all, they have empathy for the customer and are motivated to create experiences people love.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain extensible and reusable code and champion the vision for user experience across various platforms and devices

  • Serve as a vital link between the Design and Engineering teams to realize the vision into reality.

  • Strong attention to detail and polish while considering performance and maintainability

  • Ability to work effectively with Designers, Researchers, Backend engineers and Project Managers.

  • Offer alternatives when technology constraints require design compromises

  • Provide code review feedback to the product team, sharing best practices with the team

  • Identify and take ownership of opportunities for new tools, processes, and patterns

  • Comfortable working through ambiguity and multiple priorities

  • Communicate clearly and consistently with stakeholders about status and opportunities

Qualifications

  • B.Tech/ BCA/BS/MS/ M.Tech in Computer Science or Software Engineering with a strong emphasis on user interface design, web design, or a related field

  • 4+ years of experience with front-end technologies & shipping production-ready web applications

  • Experience with front-end build systems and tooling including React, Preact and Typescript

  • Experience working on large codebases & familiarity with backend technologies

  • Experience with cross-device, cross browser testing, responsive design and accessibility (WCAG Standards)

  • Experience with assistive technologies (e.g. screen readers), animation and/or motion libraries

  • Familiar with Figma and Figma component libraries and/or plugins

  • Online portfolio that showcases your work (e.g. GitHub, Codepen)

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
