Oracle Senior OIPA Configurator in HYDERABAD, India

Job Description

The OIPA Senior Configurator works on medium to large customer-facing project teams to implement and support the Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA) application for customers primarily across Insurance and Financial industries. In this role you will translate business requirements into functional and technical design, configure the application based upon the design, troubleshoot any issues, and provide mentoring to others. The OIPA Senior Configurator can serve as an individual contributor or with experience become a trusted team lead. Must be able to work independently as this is a full-time remote position for India. Must be able to work an adjusted schedule to allow for some overlap with North America time zones. Some travel required.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project team to design, configure and deliver high quality solutions that meet customer requirements

  • Work as a team lead as required, directing other consultants on design and configuration tasks

  • Create functional and technical design documents adhering to the standards set in the high-level design

  • Perform complex configuration of OIPA to meet design, including any security, calculations, reporting, complex formulas and extensions

  • Analyze and resolve any issues related to configuration or design

  • Mentor others on OIPA configuration techniques

  • Maintain a focus on customer success, interacting with customers at all job levels

  • Adhere and comply to Corporate security standards

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other related focus and/or equivalent job experience

  • 5+ years’ experience configuring Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA) application, including:

  • Building screens including actions & events

  • Building transactions including spawns, valuations & edits, allocation, fund manipulation, attached rules, suspense, group billing and processing, accounting, funds, benefit split

  • Math loops, collections & arrays

  • Interpreting stack trace errors

  • Security

  • Writing extensions

  • Perform root cause analysis and provide resolution for complex configuration issues

  • Review configuration for adherence to standards and best practices

  • SQL experience including 2+ joins, copybooks

  • Experience with XML, relational database, and MS Office

  • Understanding of full software development lifecycle, system design and development processes

  • Working knowledge of insurance and/or annuity products

  • Experience in using efficient methodologies (e.g. Agile)

  • Strong customer facing skills including written and oral communication, presentations, and ability to provide product demonstrations

  • Critical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills

  • Self-starter willing to take initiative to learn new things, ask questions, work independently, and participate in self-directed learning

  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 25%

Nice to Haves:

  • Strong insurance industry domain knowledge

  • OIPA technical experience in AsFile, data intake, rate load, utility usage

  • OIPA additional experience in writing extensions, integrations, database architecture, palette and application security, and release management
