Microsoft Corporation Senior Data Engineer & Dev Lead – Dynamics 365 Customer Experience Programs Engineering in Hyderabad, India

The CXP Engineering team provides customer and partner facing capabilities that support and guide their Dynamics 365 implementation success, together with tools that underpin and scale our FastTrack, Advanced Cloud Engineering (ACE) & partner success programs. We have a broad range of innovative tools including our Implementation Portal, Telemetry Insights, and our Implementation Copilot to deliver good practice guidance and recommendations to all Business Applications customers. We seek experienced data engineers to join our agile, diverse and global team who will contribute to the growth and success of our customer programs.

We are looking for a Data Engineer who is passionate about solving business problems with technology. As an engineer in the team, you will be required to contribute high quality design and code, and subscribe to the high-quality expectations in the team. You will be expected to collaborate with other team members and work under the supervision of your lead or senior/principal tech lead/engineer.

As a well-rounded engineer, you will be confident to dive into any unknowns and use the debugging and analysis tools at your disposal to determine the root cause of issues and to provide viable and permanent solutions. Similarly, you should be confident to pick up any programming language or tech stack based on the needs of the feature/project and work with your crew to deliver on the committed deliverables and timelines. Responsibilities

  • Leads discussions for the architecture of products/solutions and creates proposals for architecture by testing design hypotheses and helping to refine code plans

  • You will build code to extract raw data, validate its quality, and apply your deep data knowledge to ensure the correct data is ingested across the pipeline. You’ll also create techniques to transform raw data into forms compatible with downstream data sources.

  • You will identify opportunities to leverage and contribute to the development of data tools that are used to transform, manage, and access data. You’ll also write and validate code to test the storage and availability of data platforms so that they’re more resilient.

  • You will write code to implement performance monitoring protocols across data pipelines, building visualizations and aggregations to monitor pipeline health. You’ll also implement solutions and self-healing processes that minimize points of failure across multiple product features.

  • You will anticipate data governance needs, designing data modeling and handling procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and policies. You’ll also govern data accessibility within your assigned pipelines.

  • Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.

  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.

  • Drives efforts to ensure the correct processes are followed to achieve a high degree of security, privacy, safety, and accessibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work

Preferred/Additional Qualifications (Optional, at HM discretion)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering,

  • OR related field AND 8+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling

  • OR data engineering work

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience as a software engineer.

  • 1+ year of big data experience like Cosmos, Hadoop, Azure data lake etc.

  • Experience implementing ML models so that they can be used in day-to-day operations.

  • Solid understanding of telemetry and data analytics technologies like: SQL, Cosmos, Kusto, Azure ML, R, Python, Spark, Hadoop.

  • Any experience in Azure Devops, PowerApps, Power Automate and PowerBI would be a plus.

  • Multi-platform, end-to-end experience across a wide spectrum of Azure data technologies, with knowledge of building data solutions in Fabric & Power BI.
