Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Release Train Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead the planning, coordination, and design of our DevOps practices, focusing on definitions of readiness and definitions of done. You will collaborate closely with client facing, development, QA, and operations teams to streamline our software development lifecycle, enhance system reliability, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities:

CI/CD Pipeline Assistance & Build Control :

  • Occasionally review pipeline content for accuracy between what is being deployed and what should be deployed

Configuration /Version Management:

  • Ensure consistent and reliable configuration across development, testing, and production environments.

Monitoring , Logging & Documentation :

  • Be involved in all planning of releases and projects that will become deliverables to end users in order to be the expert on planning of dates, dependencies, and communication of those plans

  • Document those release plans in order to meet a release definition of ready/done

  • Be able to draw on those release plans when needing to present or coordinate them

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with client success, development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.

  • Know who to coordinate with across all products and teams you are responsible for coordinating releases for

Best Practices :

  • Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency and consistency.

  • Develop custom tools and scripts to optimize workflows.

  • Look for ways to improve release processes based on lessons learned.

Troubleshooting and Incident Management :

  • Be aware of when a deployment or a chance causes an incident or bug and be able to speak to what was introduced, at a high level, and who to coordinate with for resolution

  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident management processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.

  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., TeamCity, GitLab CI/CD etc.).

  • Proficiency in IaC tools (e.g., Terraform etc.).

  • Experience with configuration management tools.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.

  • Strong scripting skills (e.g.,PowerShell, Bash etc.).

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk etc.).

  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
