Job Description

Responsible for our production infrastructure, including the servers and services which support our growing client base as well as maintenance and deployment of highly scalable environments. This Engineer works with other teams in the organization and provides operational solutions for their needs. Understands client systems and applications, networking, infrastructure, data centers, web tools and technologies, databases and Cloud, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and more. Must have understanding of Application Performance Management.

Maintenance and deployment of scalable solutions for fast changing infrastructure environment with complex needs in fields like: configuration deployments, monitoring, and logging. Perform deep drill down analysis into performance bottlenecks and provide necessary fixes. Bring in new ideas, change, evolve, improve and simplify the production infrastructure. Work closely with our development and research teams and provide customer friendly solutions and support. Responsible for working on the maintenance and/or deployment of enterprise supporting systems.

BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Suggested majors include Computer Science or Mathematics. Working knowledge of Web tools, methodologies, and programming languages. Experience working with external or internal customers to implement large scale solutions, business process architecture. Working operational knowledge of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions using a variety of cloud platform services. Highly technical and analytical, possessing significant operations experience. Identifies, deployes and maintains complex solutions in experience of application or server architecture and networking. A minimum of 6-10+ years experience in application operations/support or server architecture and networking or related experience.

Responsibilities

The Demo Services DevOps team builds and maintains world class demonstration environments that enable the global Sales organization and Oracle's Partners to showcase Oracle's IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platform to our growing customer base. The demonstration environments are monitored 24/7 for availability, performance and usage. Our groups mission is to provide highly available and highly performant demonstration environments while balancing the investment of cloud capacity.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Incident Management – Identify, analyze and correct the issues to restore service levels

Problem Management – Analyze the incidents and log bugs with the support teams for getting resolution to the persistent issues/problems. Correlate cloud outages/incidents with service outages/incidents

Change Management – Implement/coordinate various approved changes and test new releases. Work with Build and Development teams on quality control of new images

Life Cycle Management of Environments & Virtual Machines – Provision, shutdown, startup, restart, upgrade, patch, perform health checks, monitor services and performance, retire unused Demo environments. Everything on a 24x7 basis with global teams around the world

Data Management – Execute and manage backups & restores

Knowledge Management – Create and improve knowledge base documents

Maintenance Management – Participate in Quarterly Maintenances for all the Demo infrastructure

Automation Management – Investigate, propose and collaborate on new opportunities for process automation

The candidate must have:

Technical Skills:

Experience within IT Industry as Sys admin / DevOps engineer for at least 6 to 10+ years

Deep experience in Application Performance troubleshooting (Fusion SaaS preferred)

Experience with Red Hat/Oracle Enterprise Linux Sysadmin tools, commands and utilities

Experience in Scripting using Bash, Python, Perl or other common Linux scripting languages

Experience in Linux virtualization environments and Network configuration

Knowledge in Storage technologies (such as Block Volume / NFS)

Experience in deploying and managing large scale systems over any of the Cloud Technologies such as Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and/or OpenStack (Preferred Certified professionals)

Knowledge in Application Servers (Weblogic/Websphere/Tomcat). Should be familiar with Architecture and basic troubleshooting

Basic Knowledge in Database Administration

Knowledge of one or more orchestration, deployment tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef

Educational qualifications: B.E/ B. Tech / M.C.A in IT/ Computer Science
