Job Description:

We are the Employee Productivity team in the Microsoft Digital organization in Experiences + Devices product group, and we are Microsoft’s first and best customer. We innovate and apply unique and early insights to accelerate change and drive technology adoption that delivers outstanding experiences and inspires Microsoft’s customers and partners.

We accomplish this by defining the vision and aspirational user and IT professional experience for Employee Productivity workflows across the breadth of the Microsoft technology portfolio and partner with engineering teams to bring this vision to life. We think beyond the confines of products and traditional boundaries to create compelling experiences using AI/copilot that align with how people naturally think and work.

This job is a fantastic opportunity to work with the Employee productivity team who build applications for Microsoft employees across the globe. We are looking for an exceptional Product Manager lead to come up with vision/roadmaps, build new applications/services, define and drive the OKRs for the product/services working with leadership and business teams. The PM Manager will utilize data-informed, long-term investment thinking to evaluate trade-offs, and prioritize investments in consultation with cross-division partners. The PM Manager will drive teams to evangelize the feature areas they work on with internal and external stakeholders, customers to showcase how Microsoft uses its products first and best. You should be able to formulate a vision and strategic plan whilst creating clarity in requirements, demonstrating customer-obsession with a growth mindset. You should be comfortable talking about technical components, understand development cycles but at the same time hold onto the business need and impact.

Another key accountability would be people management, to grow the product management team and enable best in class products/services for Microsoft.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Build a diverse team with capabilities needed to achieve current and future business objectives. Balance the development of existing employees while bringing in new external and internal talent.

  • Define the vision and strategy for the aspirational user and IT professional experience across the integrated device management portfolio, and cross platform experience.

  • Break vision into product roadmaps and drive incremental improvements based on listening systems including live site data, end user feedback, and other research methods. Run Agile practices and mature them. Foster in AI led product management culture in the team.

  • Partners across a broad set of engineering groups and other stakeholders and senior company leaders to achieve this vision and strategy.

  • Develop a strong business intelligence capability to gain broad insights and identify opportunities grounded in a data driven approach.

  • Build and foster strong relationships and deliver across a broad set of dependencies inside and outside of Microsoft.

  • Engage with customers to share the Microsoft story, showcase Microsoft’s technology portfolio, and create publicly available Customer Showcase materials to drive adoption of Microsoft’s products.

  • Lead with a focus on people, ensuring employee satisfaction, diversity and growth and development.

  • Act as the hub of coordination between various teams and engineering. Take the initiative to drive issue resolution, maintain consistent communication and/or meeting cadences, and hold others accountable for their commitments.

  • Ensure features/user stories are traceable, well-communicated, and aligned to the overall business or solution vision.

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Math, or an related technical discipline

  • 15+ years combined experience: Program Management, Product Management, Operations Research, Software Development, technical/engineering role(s).

  • 10+ years of experience in Planning, design, development, testing and implementation experience on large scale projects for enterprise businesses.

  • 5+ years demonstrated proficiency in executive level presentations and communications.

  • Proven success and experience in collaborating across engineering, business, data science, and operational teams, up to and including working with Partner/GM level stakeholders.

  • Seasoned people manager -You are a genuine self-starter, who proactively identifies problems, proposes solutions, and drives a team to address them.

  • Provide leadership, effectively communicating and managing priorities and risk for the org up to leadership, business stakeholders and team members.

  • Lead a team of product managers who will form part of this team. Develop the capabilities of the team, and delegate responsibilities as appropriate.

  • Lead via coaching the members of your team, enabling them to develop thriving careers and be highly performing.

  • Be a change agent driving cultural change of your team.

  • Be strong technically, with a track record of successfully designing and delivering solutions for complex technical problems. Working knowledge of AI capabilities and the latest copilot product solutions.

  • Good Understanding of technical skills to provide design inputs, perform competitive research on technologies used to come up with ideas for new solutions.

  • A track record of designing and shipping products and/or services, preferably at Enterprise scale.

  • A product ownership mentality showing pride and personal accountability for end-to-end quality, completeness, and resulting user experience of your product and/or service.

  • A comfort amid an ambiguous environment with demonstrated ability to adapt approach-based on change while maintaining a constructive attitude.

  • An ability to collaborate across disparate teams to seek out and incorporate diverse perspectives into design solutions while being able to balance feedback while achieving results.

  • The judgement to confidently ‘do the right thing’, in all cases.

Preferred Candidates should have:

  • Strong customer focus and passion for doing what's right for the customer -Relentless drive for results.

  • Excellent judgment, decision making skills, verbal and written communication.

  • Ability to go technically deep and quickly ramp up on new technologies.

  • Ability to work independently in highly ambiguous environments.

  • Excellent presentation skills and experience of presenting to developers up to senior management.

  • Strong independent thinker who works well in a team setting
