Sanofi Group Head of Procurement Risk Assurance in Hyderabad, India

To facilitate this transformation, a new Business Operations Business Unit is being established, bringing together existing business service activities, and driving further expansion of centralized services at scale into a global unit, with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity.

This new Business Unit will enable the delivery of best-in-class business support capabilities across the organization, incorporating and engaging disparate teams from across areas such as R&D, M&S, the Corporate Functions and GBUs into new global Service Delivery Towers with initial services spanning Commercial, Finance, Procurement and People & Culture.

About the job

Reporting to the Head of Service, Portfolio Management & Risk Assurance, the Head of Procurement Risk Assurance plays a critical role in safeguarding Sanofi’s assets and reputation through the implementation of improved controls and standard, efficient processes across key Procurement Services programs and initiatives, including Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence, and Supplier Diversity. This role will work directly with the Procurement Risk Management Team (dotted line).

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead the Procurement Services Risk Assurance organization, ensuring alignment with the broader Global Business Operations and Hub operating model.

  • Implement a comprehensive risk management strategy based on a defined Risk Framework, aligning with broader organizational objectives.

Risk Identification and Mitigation:

  • Lead efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across Procurement Services and Business Operations, leveraging existing internal and external resources.

  • Collaborate with internal control teams to enhance existing control mechanisms across the front office of Procurement and middle / back offices of Procurement Services.

Process Improvement and Documentation:

  • Partner with the Head of Procurement Risk Management and Supplier Diversity to design and develop an enhanced framework and target operating model for complying with Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), Sustainability and Supplier Diversity-related regulations; execute managed service commitments, ensuring efficiency in operations and adherence to corporate standards.

  • Optimize risk identification and mitigation plans for new and existing vendors and establish relevant regulatory requirements.

Feedback Mechanism and Coordination:

  • Establish a closed-loop feedback model to collect and assess opportunities to improve risk management processes.

  • Coordinate responses to internal and external audits, ensuring timely and effective remediation of identified issues.

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

  • Oversee the tracking of key performance indicators related to risk management, demonstrating value through innovation and delivery excellence in collaboration with the Procurement Risk Management team.

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reporting needs related to risk assurance within Procurement Services.

About you

Experience :

  • 5-7 years of prior experience in delivering risk management for global organization in a leadership role.

  • Experience with conducting general Financial Audit and/or specific supplier audits, assessments, or evaluations.

Soft and technical skills :

  • Knowledge of pharmacovigilance, drug safety, or regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Knowledge of child labor, anti-bribery, ethics, living wage human rights regulations globally.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Effective collaborator with strong trust-building, negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Impact-oriented with strong analytical, structuring, problem-solving, and strategic capabilities to innovate, design and execute a plan.

  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to leverage a natural intellectual curiosity.

  • Critical thinking and ability to challenge conventional ways of working, generate new ideas and to leverage variety of approaches as appropriate to the problem to be solved.

  • Developed business partnering, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence senior level stakeholders.

  • Ability to work in a matrixed international environment.

Education :

  • A BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business discipline.

Languages : Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time, including international travel.
