About the job

Reporting to the Head of Process Excellence & Innovation, the Head of CI & Process Excellence is responsible to develop, manage, and oversee all CI & Process Excellence capabilities across Business Operations (BO). The shared capabilities model is crucial to the success of BO and will allow Sanofi to achieve goals associated with process improvement, effectiveness and capacity targets. CI & Process Excellence will include Process Reengineering, Process Management and develops and delivers the Continuous Improvement (CI) strategy whilst building the right capability, governance and culture to accelerate end-to-end Process Excellence, leveraging technology. This role will lead a global team of up to 50 team members, with 5+ direct reports, responsible for global teams. Establishing effective relationships across all levels of teams and leaders in BO, implementing training programs and coaching senior leaders and stakeholders on CI methodologies and tools will be key.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategy:

  • Develop and implement a company-wide CI & process excellence strategy that aligns with Business Operations’ vision and objectives.

  • Implement and drive a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.

  • Define global framework and governance for opportunity identification, prioritization, resource allocation and progress tracking of high-impact process improvement projects.

  • Process Management:

  • Own and maintain the Sanofi Operating Model playbook (SOM) leveraging and governing the GPO framework and network.

  • Ensure a comprehensive process mapping of Sanofi’s end-to-end processes.

  • Define standards, develop and maintain Knowledge Management processes and Solutions (DTPs, Knowledge Articles, Process Flows, etc.).

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Review/define methods, tools and governance to drive and measure continuous improvement at scale.

  • Leverage advanced methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, DMAIC, DMADV etc… and solutions in the field of Process Mapping/Mining to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.

  • Ensure BO teams are trained in Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques and establish certification Program.

  • Oversee the design and implementation of process enhancements identified initiatives.

  • Own and leverage automation services to improve process efficiencies and cost to serve

  • Performance Management:

  • In collaboration with BO Strategy & Partnership team, establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of process improvements.

  • Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure alignment with best practices/core models and continuous enhancement initiatives.

  • Report progress, challenges and potential solutions to the Business Operations Leadership Team and other business governance bodies as appropriate.

  • Leadership & Influence:

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team across 4 hub locations.

  • Coach senior leaders on process improvement initiatives.

  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and ensure stakeholder engagement in improvement efforts, partnering closely with Communications and Learning partners for BO

  • Change Management:

  • Implement robust change management plans to facilitate the smooth adoption of the improved processes as well as of the continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Communicate the benefits and importance of continuous process improvements effectively to all BO employees.

  • Innovation and Best Practices:

  • Stay connected with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies and methodologies in process improvement.

  • Continuously seek innovative solutions to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness.

About you

Professional experience

  • Experience in leading continuous improvement and process excellence for large international GBS organisations, including facilitating large scale complex Kaizen/Value Stream Mapping/LSS trainings for senior stakeholders.

  • Work experience in different geographies, including people leadership of international teams in senior leadership positions

  • Extensive experience in process improvement, operational excellence, or a related role, including performance measurement and KPI management

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.

  • Proven track record of leading change within large, complex businesses/functions

  • Ability to challenge the status quo and communicate continuous improvement strategic goals effectively.

  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to drive change and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. A MBA is preferred.

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Master Black Belt or Black Belt Certified, Professional Scrum Master) or other advanced process improvement methodologies.

  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (lean six sigma, agile), project delivery and portfolio management

  • Proficiency in process improvement tools and software.

  • Fluent in English; fluency in second language is a plus
