Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will responsible for developing and leading a very hardworking engineering team for the Operations and Enterprise DTI function that is built for delivering high-end and innovative technologies.

This role requires expertise in Enterprise Resource Planning, including Leadership role in multiple full implementations of ERP systems, especially SAP S/4HANA and leading large sustainment teams up to 200 people. Additionally, extensive collaboration with global teams is required to ensure seamless integration and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a good background in the end-to-end software development lifecycle and be a Scaled Agile practitioner, coupled with leadership and transformation experience. This role demands the ability to drive and deliver against key organizational critical initiatives, develop a collaborative environment, and deliver high-quality results in a matrixed organizational structure.

  • ERP Strategy Development: Develop and communicate a clear ERP strategy aligned with Amgen's global objectives, ensuring ERP systems support business growth and innovation while improving operational efficiency.

  • Project and Program Management: Lead the delivery and management of a diverse portfolio of projects within the Global ERP organization through large, teams with varied strengths within a matrixed organization, and using proven methodologies to accelerate critical initiatives.

  • Collaborator Collaboration: Cultivate robust relationships with key collaborators, including DTI and business leaders geographically dispersed, including those in the US and other international locations, to inspire collaboration and ensure alignment on business and DTI priorities.

  • Executive Engagement: Engage with executive leadership to communicate program statuses and outcomes, presenting a clear and compelling story.

  • ERP Implementation and Maintenance: Lead the implementation and maintenance of ERP systems and initiatives across multiple global locations, ensuring flawless integration, standardization of processes, compliance with local laws and ensuring smooth transitions, user adoption, and minimal disruptions to business operations

  • Team Leadership and Development: Manage, mentor, and develop a large (up to 200 people) and diverse team of ERP professionals, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

  • Risk and Compliance Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to ERP systems, ensuring alignment with global data protection regulations and industry standards.

  • Budget and Financial Management: Identify budget requirements for ERP projects, oversee financial execution, and ensure alignment with business goals and financial targets.

  • Innovation and Technology Integration: Develop a culture of agile innovation within the ERP team, identifying opportunities for process optimization and incorporating new technologies to enhance business performance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree and 4 years of experience in the software development lifecycle Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead large matrixed teams

OR

  • Master’s degree and 14 to 16 years of experience in the software development lifecycle Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead large matrixed teams

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 16 to 18 years of experience in the software development lifecycle Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead large matrixed teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Familiarity with SOX, GxP standards, and global data protection regulations

  • Experience using and adopting Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Professional Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) (Preferred)

  • SAP Certification (Preferred): Certifications in SAP, particularly related to SAP S/4HANA

  • SAFe for Teams certification (Preferred)

  • Risk Management: Skilled in proactively identifying and managing program-level risks, issues, and dependencies to minimize disruptions.

  • Mentoring: Ability to mentor, motivate, and develop a diverse team of ERP professionals, fostering a growth-oriented environment.

  • Change Management: Expertise in developing and implementing strategies for ERP implementations and upgrades, ensuring smooth transitions and user adoption.
