About the Role:

Carrier is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join the Corporate IT staff to create, implement, and support key elements of our Service Excellence strategy.

This position will be responsible for our global IT software asset management program leveraging our ServiceNow instance and Flexera One suite. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in IT Software Asset Management and have deep experience using ServiceNow for executing Software Asset Management. The Global Software Asset Management Lead will be responsible for designing, maintaining and supporting software lifecycle asset management policies and procedures. The position will work closely with the Asset Management team, suppliers, customers, and other supporting team members to enable the lifecycle management of software assets, including but not limited to support and maintenance contract agreements, license procurement, and license harvesting.

The Global Software Asset Management Lead will have a primary role in creating and improving processes in areas where existing approaches are immature or non-existent and in helping to guide Software Asset Management strategy going forward. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Asset Management principles and will bring with them a solid understanding of how SAM can contribute to the financial well-being of the global IT organization.

Key Responsibilities

Act as Subject Matter Expert in software products with complex licensing structures. Proactively communicate appropriate financial and business use cases to partner teams and report in written and oral formats on compliance, liability, and budgetary data

Provide detailed reporting on current licensing risks. Measure compliance and consumption against technical policies, applicable legislation, and contractual obligations

Develop and drive various software reharvesting schemes that successfully provide a measurable return on investment

Develop strategy, policy, and process for an enterprise Software Audit Strategy, including internal and external license reviews, legal coordination, consumption analytics, and contract reviews

Create, manage, and develop policies, governance, process, and related operational planning for handling country-wide inquiries for software products, deployment and assignment of products, license availability, and compatibility against contracts

Coordinate with financial, technology, and other business teams to assure appropriate management, payment, and oversight of products

Draft professional and accurate communications on software installation rules, product use requirements, request intake rules, and related policies on software

Be an expert in various licensing structures and use those skills to develop optimization structures for the enterprise.

Has knowledge of license agreements involving software

Provides recommendations to management on process improvements and optimization opportunities

Proactively develop enterprise lifecycle management of country-owned software products, transfer of products, and regulations around use of products.

Coordinate with partner teams to plan for replacement or retirement of sunsetting software.

Manage and drive the regular review of current and potential Terms and Conditions; extracting appropriate information on liability, usage constraints, and product controls.

Provide insight on products and their use during contract negotiations and contract renewals

Lead collaborative, countrywide efforts to reduce software lifecycle costs and compliance risks

Develop strategy for renewals of major software license contracts, maintain records relating to the issuing of license keys, and regularly verify compliance

Provide quarterly, annual, and multi-year analysis to support the software renewal process, including both usage and business analytics against contractual commitments to assure enterprise management of products, expenditures, and risk management.

Analyze the financial and operational impact of IT standardization, potential EAs, product options, maintenance programs, and determine recommendations for the future

Trigger regular sweeps of records to ensure installation is consistent with software entitlements. Validate, verify, and report on records continuously.

Assure that ITAM data, historical records, and purchase documents are organized and readily available to satisfy auditing and compliance

Can marshal resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done

Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Information Technology

5+ years of Software Asset Management experience

CSAM, CITAM certification a plus

Experience with ServiceNow and Flexera

Experience with top publishers such as Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk, Oracle, and IBM

Experience with software compliance and audits

Education / Certification :

Any Bachelor Degree or Equivalent. CSAM, CITAM certification a plus
