Primary Responsibilities:

  • As Big Data Lead Engineer, you will evaluate, design, develop, maintain and test Big Data solutions. You will be involved in data engineering activities like creating pipelines/ workflows for source to target mappings

  • Responsible for data ingestion from files, streams and databases. Process the data using Hadoop, Spark, Python/Scala, SQL

  • Provide hands-on leadership for the design and development of ETL data flows using Hadoop and Spark ecosystem components. Lead the development of large-scale, high-speed, and low-latency data solutions in the areas of large-scale data manipulation, long-term data storage, data warehousing, low-latency retrieval systems, real-time reporting and analytics data applications, ad-hoc analytics.

  • Develop programs in Python and SQL as part of data cleaning and processing

  • Responsible for design and development of distributed, high volume, high velocity multi-threaded event processing systems using Kafka and REST APIs

  • Develop efficient code for multiple use cases leveraging Python and Big Data technologies on the Azure platform in an optimal manner

  • Maintain high operational excellence guaranteeing high availability and platform stability

  • Maintain and develop complex data processing frameworks using Python, Spark, SQL and Airflow

  • Follow DevOps practices to automate the data pipelines

  • Build and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions

  • Build and maintain operational monitoring and application telemetry systems for monitoring jobs and troubleshooting failures

  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of overall experience with at least 2 years of experience as Tech Lead

  • 4+ years of experience in Big Data with prior experience in ETL

  • Experience working with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Parquet and Snowflake

  • Experience working with Python

  • Experience working with CI tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins

  • Hands-on experience with Spark, Hive and any ETL tool (Any tool is fine as long as the resource has solid ETL processing experience)

  • Experience using Airflow for job orchestration

  • Experience working in and designing components for a cloud application, preferably Azure

  • Solid knowledge of SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and Microservice architecture

  • Knowledge of American healthcare domain

  • Knowledge of Grafana and Kafka

  • Experience in Unix shell scripting, Java/Scala
